Not really sure what to make of this, honestly. Kinda seems like they're trying to ape the comedy of Lego games long after their heyday. Not to mention the anti-Funko Pop people are gonna have a stroke. I guess we'll wait for what it does different gameplay-wise from other shooters.

[down]My mistake. Still at work so I can't devote 100% attention to videos.

[up]It’s more an action/adventure game than a shooter. All I know is MOAR SCOTT PILGRIM.

For a game where everyone is a Funko Pop figure this is going way harder than I was expecting it to.

[down] Fair enough, yeah.

[up]To be fair, a lot of these properties represented are R-rated.

Invincible is a Universal property? Huh. I kinda thought that Amazon and Skybound made it themselves.

Shrek better be in this though.

I think Universal still has film rights to Invincible.

A lot of them seem to be Universal properties. Even see Freddie Fazbear from the Universal adaptation. So I wonder what other Universal characters we will see.

Well, aside from what's already there, Universal's got stuff like Fast and Furious, Despicable Me, all of DreamWorks, the classic monster movies, The Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Psych, Community, Conan the Barbarian, E.T., Halloween, Scarface... and that's not even getting into the possibility of licensing outside stuff.

This feels like the death cries of a brand, to be honest. Funko has been in freefall for a few years now like what happened with Beanie Babies back in the day.

I have a feeling it might flop, too.

Let’s not jump to conclusions.

I'm basing this on actual facts, though?

Last year they overproduced and due to not selling had to trash 36 million dollars worth of toys.

This game feels like its a couple years too late and is just trying to breath relevance into a dying toyline that's gone the way of Beanie Babies. I could see it having been delayed because of the Pandemic, so the synergy between the toys and game are gone.

I'm morbidly curious about how a Funko Pop version of The Thing would look. That has to be the most anti-Funko Pop design here.

ETA: Never mind, saw them in the trailer, looks much goofier than expected.
