We pitched the show to ITV since they own the trademarks. I was shocked to see ITV and Netflix sign on to it. But we also had a demographic problem, since the show's premise is about Anthropomorphic Personifications of the various ITV regional franchisees (with their designs being based on the identification of those franchisees) before the 2002 consolidation, it would target logo enthusiasts, a mostly niche community.
A proud 18-year-old British smartass nerd obsessed with World Cup mascots, geopolitical history & British animation.
This most likely led to the show only lasting a year and a half with 3 seasons (despite positive reception by logo enthusiasts and mixed-to-positive reception by critics). However, I joked that it was because Netflix wanted to focus on the Skibidi Toilet series (which was our main rival on Netflix and has been very successful with children despite being panned by critics). I later signed a deal to produce a season 4 with ITV (which was in pre-production when Netflix originally canned the show), with Amazon Prime handling international streaming rights.
I decided to return to Netflix when I proposed they take over the distribution of my other show which had little exposure outside of Britain (originally aired on S4C in Welsh and Channel 4 in English in the UK and was funded by the Welsh Government), and they accepted it.
