How unsurprised should we be if this all leads to an adaptation of none other than Onslaught?
So from what I've seen generally people are aware of the whole Magneto was right being misguided and the X-Men still siding with Charles. The only ones who missed out the irony are the usual twitter-addled people and some websites *cough resetera cough* who are definitely no different from Killmonger simps back then.
Maybe it's because Juggernaut isn't a mutant?
That's good to hear at least. Goes to show that, regardless of what executives think, viewers are not morons and can understand nuance, and one shouldn't write their stories trying to appeal to terminally online losers.
x5 They seem to have functionally combined Nimrod and Bastion into one character to some extent. A lot about how Bastion is being portrayed kinda evokes how Nimrod is typically portrayed in the comics. As less of a mere "villain" and more the tragic logical conclusion of the senseless war between man, mutant, and machine. A powerful being born entirely for the sake of fighting that conflict, raised from birth being emotionally abused, gaslit, and taught that there was no coexistence and that the only way to save the world was destroying one or even all sides. A Dark Messiah of machine-life that genuinely believes he has no choice but to carry out his programming because he's had it beaten into him that if he doesn't, the world will suffer. Basically, Bastion in the comics was significantly more evil and unsympathetic, just a straight mutant hater, while Nimrod was a Tragic Monster akin to a robo-Magneto who hates what he is, what he does, and only does it because he can't perceive a way out.
What I'm getting at is that they seem to be going for a middle ground. Show Bastion was groomed and emotionally abused by Master Mold to become what he is now, so there's a degree of tragedy, but he's also genuinely evil and lacks the self-awareness of comic Nimrod. He's a monster, but one that wouldn't exist if not for the pointless warring between the three subspecies. He was just an innocent kid once and could've grown into a normal guy, maybe even a hero, but he ultimately made the choice as an adult to give into Master Mold's ideology and actively hates mutants (where comic Nimrod doesn't hate them and in fact hates that he's ordered to fight them).

I assume the pitch was less "you are going to be a soldier in the glorious war against mutants" and more "you'll be turned into a better version of yourself and also get an advantage over mutants".
Its not like these people can't be radicalized, groups like the Proud Boys are an issue for a reason.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Speaking of which I've seen some people assume all of the Primes deliberately went out of their way to get infected, which is just false. Like for real I've seen someone think Tilby was in on it and deliberately visited Hank to attack.
Things are bad right now. And Bastion was saying that got volunteers. Now, there is a possibility that not everyone was a volunteer, but it hasn't been said, and until it's said, people will assume the worst.
One Strip! One Strip!I mean, it's very easy to misconstrue the show as saying that, which is part of why I complained about that little detail being included. It's going to make a lot of people think the Prime Sentinels are just a bunch of racist pieces of shit instead of a bunch of innocent people converted into monsters against their will, both taking away the horror of how Bastion uses them and making it seem like the flatscans are being demonized in typical "Marvel civilians are assholes and deserve to be killed" way.

There was a line that outright says some returned not knowing they were experimented in the lab.
Anyone have answers to that woman talking to Bastion in a silhouette was besides Madame Hydra. I find it weird thats the go-to answer when Zemo already looks like he reps Hydra already. And no, I dont think Enchatress either. Could be Madame Masque from Iron Man.

Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down. One of the writers said it was just supposed to be a random government lady.
Boooooooooooooooo

I mean, That just means they forgot the full extent of what was done to them, or that they were essentially turned in monsters. It doesn't answer how many of them were volunteers.
Now, Bastion converting his entire town (including his own mom) probably does....unless we really think his mom was that evil as well, and everyone in that town was just an asshole.
I admit, I believe that every single person there was a volunteer, and even if they were, that's still a horrible thing to do to someone, especially since Trask already established that they're still in there, meaning many of them knew full well what they were doing, including the ones acting as suicide bombers.
Good god. Trish must be mortified.
I'll say this for Bastion. He's managed to do something so awful (that many claimed they wanted) that it might force a large number of people who hated mutants to once again question just what they're doing, not unlike what Gyrich did to Xavier.
Too bad it came at such a horrific price, and that many mutants—including the X-men—might not care as much anymore.

One Strip! One Strip!I really doubt that considering we saw a lot of randos becoming Primes
Admittedly, I do too.
Still, revealing how Bastion infected so many who weren't volunteers might help a lot. Also, lets hope we'll find out if those dudes are dead or not after Magneto EMP'ed the hell out of the entire planet.
Boy, I hope Tony wasn't in the middle of a flight when that happened.
One Strip! One Strip! He is that smart....
But can even Tony create something that can resist an EMP from Magneto?
One Strip! One Strip! It Depends on the Writer, on how much oomph Magneto is putting into the EMP, and on whether he's trying to take out a specific device in a small area or if he's trying to knock out the power as far as he possibly can.
Mr. Fantastic would be. He’s smart enough to create a wooden gun.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Tony actually did reinforce his armor to withstand Magneto during Avengers vs X-Men.
Tony's armor and the thing in his chest probably have failed him in enough ways that he has a lot of protections included.
Wake me up at your own risk.Fair enough. If there's one thing Tony is good at, it's learning from his armour based mistakes and preparing countermeasures. He's the consummate engineer on that front.
Most of his other mistakes—barring his alcoholism, which he's done a good job of controlling—he tends to repeat, but he never messes up when it comes to preparing better armours for any possibility.
One Strip! One Strip! He was there since the start...

His flashbacks, esspecaly one with his mother points to him having enough self awarness and free will to doubt himself and be insecure. So I will say he ultimately had a choice.
