[up] Oh hey, Catra's space suit had those in the She-Ra reboot. They were adorable there too.

The villains themselves are pretty good, however, they don't tend to get a lot of screen-time. They may get a decent introductory episode, but apart from a couple of guys, after that, they are largely background, where they might fight, but as they fight they'd be basically silent and not get the chance to be characters. This is one of the things we're hoping season two improves upon, and that these guys will actually get the chance to act as people.

Also, the first season is kind of abbreviated. Like, a lot happens in those ten episodes, and having even one or two more would allow the world to be fleshed out more.

Apart from these things, the show is really good. It tends to be a little sillier than, say, the 90s Superman: The Animated Series, but in a fun way.

Back to the trailer, I get the feeling that Lex and Jimmy are going to spend some time each running a campaign to alter public perception of Superman, with Jimmy trying to show everyone that Supes is good, and Lex is going to play JJ and try to turn everyone against Supes. This reminds me of Spider-man actually, as in most of his works, about half of the people like him and the other half don't, while I think Supes has generally been liked by everyone in the past.

Sneak peak preview of season 2.

As always Amanda Waller is the absolute fucking worst. Experimenting on nonviolent offenders and civilians, and then justifying herself on the grounds it's for her country.

Fucking despicable.

Let’s be honest, people. Waller is a walking human rights violation. I’m shocked the US Government or the UN doesn’t come down hard on her…

The UN in DC told Qurac "you can have the Joker as your ambassador, no worries".

They are actually worse than the real life UN. No small feat there.

Waller runs a black ops unit funded by the US Government. She's literally only answerable to people who don't care what atrocities she commits so long as she gets the job done. Granted, in this continuity things may be different for her, but I suspect not by much.

I miss Justice League Unlimited Waller...

According to who? Because Waller is the one in charge, so she's the one who tells her employers whether she's doing a good job or not.

[up] True

[up][up][up] Sad fact is that as much as somebody like Waller contibuosly proves to do more harm than good, it is to common for people in charge will keep them around either because it’s easier than getting rid of them or because they agree with them.

Current Amanda Waller is basically the kind of character Classic Amanda Waller would bring down because their Stupid Evil is too much of a menace to everyone including the Pragmatic Evil higherups.

My first exposure to Waller was Justice League Unlimited and she was handled so well there. She did unsavory things, but she felt she had a good reason to do them. She was correct in stating that the Justice League could conquer the Earth if they chose to, and in an alternate reality, did. She also admits that the stuff she did was ethically dubious, she just feels the ends justify the means. And the stuff she did do wasn't on the level of burning down puppy orphanages either. But every other iteration of her, except maybe Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, makes her so cartoonishly unethical that she is as bad as the villains. I think the worst part is that she's often so petty. I can name one time where Waller contracted Task Force X for a mission for personal reasons, something any well-written Waller would never do. This was a solved issue back in 2004, why hasn't anyone been able to get her right since?
