Friday Night Funkin'

Sooooooo, surprised this game didn't have a thread yet so i'm creating one.

Friday Night Funkin' is a Rhythm Game from Newgrounds that exploded in popularity around November-December of last year. Game is open source and we are supposed to get Week 6 soon.

This game got me to check Newgrounds more often, which i didn't bother since the release of Fleeing the Complex. So hey, quite the Colbert Bump for me and a lot of people in the internet.

With each new update I get worse and worse at this game. I can get up to the end of "Dadbattle" on Normal, but after that? Nope.

Same. This game reminds me that I'm terrible at rhythm games

I was actually thinking of making a FNF thread, hah. Didn't know we had one already!

I must be better than rhythm games than I thought, because I can usually pass the weeks with an at least average score on normal.

Except pre-Week 4 Spookeez. I love Skid and Pump, but they can go suck on candy corn for the amount of times that song alone blue balled me.

(Also can we talk about mods here? It still blows me away how far the modding community's come in a few months - people are even composing wholly original songs now! And they slap!)

I wouldn't mind if they unnerf Spookez and move it after Week 4 since the devs have clarified it chronologically takes place after 4. The difficulty spike in this game is a complete mess lol.

Notice how each of the even numbered weeks have a really hard song in it. Spookez, South, Milf, Roses, what's up with these songs dude

I know this thread doesn't get much activity, but could someone help with this? I'm trying to rewrite this bit of the Speaking Simlish example on the page —

Monster is gonna get added in the next update. Though from what i've seen in Ninjamuffin's stream, it's still pretty rough on the animation side.

They really are hyping up Week 7 and i have no clue who could it be. They confirmed it's not Tankman and there are several hints that i think all are fake because of course the funkin devs are a bunch of Trolling Creators

Any guesses for who could be Week 7's opponent? I have 3: Henry Stickmin, Ritz (a character from agame Ninjamuffin worked on) or Girlfriend (They say week 7 is a big deal and she would be a pretty important opponent).

I feel like if there was a legitimate Week against Girlfriend it'd be later in the game? Definitely feels more like penultimate material, personally.

SrPelo posted some sketches of the characters in the Spooky Month style. Spirit looks vaguely concerned and I love it

Interestingly, he refers to it as the characters if they were in the Spooky Month universe — combined with the BF plushie in "Unwanted Guest", seems like FNF really does take place in its own separate, meshed-up continuity. Neat!

It would be even better if the rest of the main cast was part of it. Bob would be hitting on the Girlfriend, pissing off both Daddy Dearest and the Boyfriend.

Not to mention guys like Tari and Fishy Boopkins putting out horrible performances. And just to add to the insanity, let's have judges that are Team Fortress 2 mercenaries like this collab by DamashiDX:

Ok weird but a Ninjamuffin 99 edited the FNF page back in January or around the time Week 5 came out. Could that be that actual Ninjamuffin?

He has probably checked the page knowing him

Oh yeah I remember that! Last I checked the account's only edit was correcting that FNF is made in HTML5 and not Flash in the description. If that really was him, it's kinda funny that it bugged him so much he made an account just to fix it.

What if Egoraptor is one of the future opponents?

Hmm, Kenstar does make an appearance on Week 5 but i don't really expect him to be an opponent. The creator himself? I dunno, he doesn't seem too active on NG nowadays.

Sure, but he's still huge on the Internet thanks to Game Grumps. If Arin appears in FNF, he would most likely be in that art style seen in the intro. You know, the "Grump Head" style?

It'd be cool if Arin and Dan could be partners in a rap like the spooky bois. Dan's iffectious laugh combined with Arins screams of rage making such beautiful harmony.

Ooo, I'd love more duo characters!
