Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Let’s kick off this next page, shall we?

Suggestions for Dormammu? He’s been collecting dust in my other sandbox for a while now.

No-Thumbs Mode

"Know me, for I am Dormammu! He who comes from the outer dark! He who has waited eternities to possess your frail universe! Look upon my visage and know fear! Hear my words in your soul and feel it crumble! I scream blood and murder at your weak stars! And my screams are the armies of Hell!"
Dormammu, God of Magical Overlords (The Dread Lord, The Dread One, The Black One, The Great Enigma, Eater of Souls, Lord of Darkness, Lord of the Dark Dimension)

According to the alignment pages he's actually Lawful Evil. To quote from the page: "Dimension Lord Dread Dormammu, despite his title of Lord of Chaos, has a twisted sense of fair play and honor, and displays consistent behavior in attempting to conquer Earth's dimension. As Doctor Strange mentions "Spontaneity is something Dormammu cannot fathom. Like all tyrants, his mind is rigid...he follows set formulas." On note, I could see him and Bill Cipher getting along, at least in first. Backstory-wise Dormammu and his sister were cast out by their race as their lust for physical matter (or something along that, I think) which was seen as an abomination by their race. Bill comes from a 2-D Flatland universe that he felt confined in, which motivated him to "liberate". Unlike Dormammu Bill plays the fun trickster act, but his idea of fun is turning whatever universe he's in to a World of Chaos and he usually amuses himself by inflicting great cruelty in some fashion

Right now I am requesting an answer to this question: are there former authoritarians in the Trope Pantheon who saw the error of their way? Because I feel they would relate to the Red Son Superman

  • Uncertain opinion on: The Sentry, Iroque/Indigo-1, The Phantom Thieves of Heart
  • They say Upbringing Makes the Hero, something Clark Kent firmly believes in. So what if that upbringing was changed? Say, that spaceship arrived 12 hours off and ended up in Soviet Ukraine? You get the Superman of Earth-30, better known as Red Son Superman. Fighting for Stalin, communism, and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact, he became a pupil of the Soviet Premier and grew up under the beliefs of the Soviet Union. When Stalin died, he would end up succeeding him as a Reluctant Ruler...well, for a time. As Premier of the Soviet Union he would end up becoming a dictator, almost taking the world. To many he was a Benevolent Dictator...but was the repressiveness really worth it? After all, why doesn't he just put the entire world in a bottle if it needs his protection? Realizing how much the cost of totalitarianism amounted to changed his mind...unfortunately Brainiac wasn't exactly into him giving up, and when defeated he planned to blow the whole solar system to kingdom come. Superman would prove himself a hero once more by sacrificing himself to stop this. However he secretly survived, choosing to be incognito and abandon any attempt to control mankind's destiny again.
  • The ascension of the Red Son Superman was anticipated by his Earth 0 counterpart, the OG Superman. He was one of many alternate selves that has a place in the Supermen of the Multiverse formally organized during Final Crisis, helping defeat Ultraman and the Dark Monitor. Later on he worked to help out other Supermen when they were kidnapped. Having soured relationship with the Wonder Woman of his universe, and had been in conflict with the Green Lantern Marine Corps, he expected their prime counterparts would have some issue working with him. To his pleasant surprise most of the superheroes welcomed him in and embraced his desire to be The Atoner. However his prime counterpart told him not to doubt himself; he's better than he thinks he is and is welcome to be part of the JLA. Despite their acceptance, Batman is still somewhat distrustful due to his past actions, as for a time he was an evil Superman. As the Batman of Earth-30 is a violent anarchist, the Superman of that universe admits it's going to take time for the two to get along. To distinguish himself from his counterparts and to reinforce some humility in himself, he goes by his civilian name Somishka, given to him by the animated adaptation. He hopes to find out more about DC characters from the Prime Earth, and the superheroes and villains of other universes.
  • He's very interested in Lois Lane and his prime self's adoptive parents, the latter because of the argument of Nature Versus Nurture. He's arguably a case of both; while his different upbringing made him employ more questionable methods, he had just as much a motive to do good as his prime self. He deeply respects the Kents for how well they raised his wholly good-aligned counterpart. He was raised on a farm himself, though Soviet Ukraine is quite different from Kansas. The Lois in his world was married to Lex Luthor, though she was no less of an ethical journalist on Earth 30 than Earth 0. Now Lex, that's a different story. While Earth-30 Luthor is just as conceited and arrogant as his prime counterpart, he's on the side of US government and a Nominal Hero (or Anti-Hero if you want to be generous) who would start a golden age after Superman's "death". Knowing this, Somishka can't help but feel disappointed in his prime counterpart for wasting so much effort against a version of himself that's a genuine hero. Lex naturally doesn't buy that the Earth-30 Superman has reformed and thinks he validates his beliefs to an extent, though he did like to learn about his variant and finds there's a funny sort of irony in how their lives turned out in that universe.
  • The Superman of Earth-30 is naturally compared to the other Supermen in the Trope Pantheon. And not just them, but those who clearly parallel the Man of Steel. Mainly, it's the ones that "go off the beaten path", so to speak, that are of note to the Soviet superhero, though it's not just them. The most obvious comparison one can make with the Red Son Superman is his Regime counterpart. Both see Superman become a dictator for a perceived greater good, though the trigger is different; Regime Superman lost everything, and Red Son Superman was mentored by Joseph Stalin. However Regime Superman has stayed steadfast in his ideals, much to his Earth-0 and -30 counterparts' disappointment. That Superman thinks his communist doppelganger essentially gave up too soon, however he admires his virtues and accomplishments as dictator. Somiskha initially believed he would share the sentiment, but seeing the Regime Superman double down and refuse to accept what he's in the wrong is incredibly frustrating for Somishka. So in the end, they are enemies. But what about other Superman types? How does he feel about them?
    • Due to disavowing many of his old views but not exactly being trusted by the hero community Somishka doesn't have many friends. However he does have a very strong friendship with a Superman Substitute; Nolan Grayson, aka Omni-Man. Omni-Man grew up as a Viltrumite, Social Darwinist aliens who invaded planets to "help" them (basically the alien version of White Man's Burden), masquerading as The Cape to prepare Earth. But the love of his son, and to a lesser extent wife had him realize he cared. He'd eventually reform his ways and when he eventually became leader, he helped his people reform their ways. Omni-Man has gone through a similar arc to Somishka, so it's no wonder that they relate to one another. He's fond of his son Mark, as he is the one who let the spark of his father's compassion. As a formerly evil Superman, this puts him in an interesting spot with Superboy-Prime. Prime was a much more childish, dangerous villain, but following the events of Dark Nights: Death Metal he's finally turned over a new leaf and is trying to be a hero again. He knows the temptation though, and would like help from the more mature Red Son variant as a Superman who can understand more than most.
    • At best, he perceives the Plutonian as an especially powerful yet extremely violent maniac. One who has been given chances to reform and rejected them. Red Son Superman, for all his flaws, still held on to a sense of humility and genuine compassion for people, even if his vision of "saving the world" was ultimately the wrong one. The Plutonian's heroism was ultimately driven by ego rather than any genuine desire to help. Though his Regime counterpart disagrees with his decision to stop his Totalitarian Utilitarian path, they'll happily join up and teach the Plutonian a lesson. The Earth-30 Superman has is less disgusted and more disappointed, as is his prime counterpart, with the Homelander. Somishka is currently trying to live up to the virtues of his communist upbringing as part of his atoning, so he sees Vought-American and the Seven as emblematic of the negatives of capitalism, pointing out how they've enabled the emotionally unstable traits of their Supes. The obvious exception is Starlight, who he respects for being a genuine hero. He's come around to respecting Queen Maeve due to her more active heroism on the TV show.
    • Compared to his more intense relationships with other Supermen and their expies, his relationship with Metro Man is a lot more light-hearted. Metro Man felt he was defined by the role of Metro City's number one hero and had an understandable, albeit selfish desire to finish his rivalry with Megamind. Seeing how far Somishka went to do the right thing, he thinks taking a break and sorting out his priorities is a good thing. After everything, the Soviet's Man of Steel, decided yeah, he could kick back and relax at Metro Man's place...just as long as he doesn't sing. The guitar riffs are fine. Occasionally the Samaritan and the Sentry show up when they need to take a much-needed breather. Asa Martin is glad that Earth-30 Superman is reforming but isn't comfortable enough to form an alliance yet given his past. Somishka thinks this is fair, and he's noted that while interested in the Sentry he's not quite sure about him yet because of the Void's influence on him.
  • He is slightly different in the animated version. While both versions try a non-lethal option, the animated version is willing to kill. However his main victim? Joseph Stalin. A tyrant historically seen as bad as the Fuhrer himself, with one of his atrocities being a genocidal starvation in Somishka's own land of Ukrainenote , most see it as a Pay Evil unto Evil moment. That said, his solution for dissidents and criminals was debatable worse; neurological implants to make sure they'd be good and happy. After the "why don't you put the whole world in a bottle?!" line he considers this one of his biggest regrets. It's why, as much of a point they may have and as heroic as they can be, he's unable to get on board with the Indigo Tribe or the Phantom Thieves of Heart. He has no intention of entering the Hall of Mind Control outside of taking the fight to Yuri, who uses mind control devices except with no illusions that this isn't just a method of control. Yuri is flummoxed by how that speech got through to him, and thinks of Kal-L as a disappointment.
  • The other difference in the animated version is his origins. There he's a Kryptonian, as you'd expect. But in the original comic, the world he's from is actually a very distant future Earth, sent back in hopes of changing things as the planet is about to succumb to the sun's red giant phase only to form part of a Stable Time Loop. Interestingly, this Superman the very distant descendant of Lex Luthor. Being a highly evolved human he is of interest to the Asteromorphs, who have long appreciated the heroism of the regular Superman in service of his adopted home. The Qu hold contempt for Kal-L and see his existence as similarly blasphemous. After learning what the Qu have done, the contempt is mutual. Regardless of where he was born, Somishka sees himself as a human and Soviet citizen first. He was interested in reaching out to Black Widow, a superheroine that used to be a Soviet spy, as he wanted someone to talk about his situation. Her teammate Captain America is a bit off-put as this Superman was Stalin's successor in more ways than one, but he's accepting to him wanting to live up to the mantle of Earth-0 Superman. The Earth-30 Superman respects Cap because he's a patriotic hero that always puts his morality and the virtues of the nation he loves first over any loyalty to its government. He wishes he had that kind of mindset.
  • He's Ukrainian, not Russian, though even before becoming Soviet Premier he spent a good amount of time there paraded by Stalin. Wanting to do something light-hearted, he got out red sunlight lights so he could brawl with Soda Popinski in a fair fight, as some much needed fun for a man who'd definitely benefit from it. He trains with him to learn how to box better so he's not left behind in the Strong and Skilled department compared to his prime counterpart. "Rurik II" had been observing their brawl and says he wants to reach out to the Soviet Superman, saying while he doesn't agree with his past methods he does want to see him aspire to greatness. Nikolay used to be a Red Army soldier that went off the deep end but still managed to become The Good King, so Somishka respects him. Something he's noted is that the two of them live within Alternate History, which started to make him wonder...what other Supermen in the multiverse had a shake-up to their origins? How might they compare to him? He decided to go to the House of Time and Temporality and figure out the answer. It didn't take too long for him to find a rather similar counterpart to his Regime counterpart, that being Superman as one of the Justice Lords of Earth-50, who happened to use a similar mind control on dissidents...in his case, lobotomy via heat beam. Observing with him where The Animorphs, who mused that they once visited an alternate timeline where they never met Elfangor and got the morphing power, and might have a bit more experience with the multiverse.
    • He was disturbed to learn about Earth-10, where he also landed in 1938...in Czechoslovakia. The Nazis had a field day with his ship. Amazingly, his counterpart Overman was the only member of the New Reischman to carry a sense of guilt about it. He was involved in Nazi atrocities but deeply regrets it and is trying his best to make up for it. While he was too young to fight in WW2, Somishka hates Nazis by default, and the Soviets were easily the most heated rivals of the Nazis during the war. Still, the fact that even in that timeline he had some sense of good was something to note. It's a factor behind Ultraman being Somishka's least favorite counterpart, as he never held any potential for heroism. Earth-23 was a much needed palette cleanser; a universe where he was black and got into politics, becoming US President, and an effective one at that. Somishka thinks of Calvin Ellis as his good counterpart.
    • Some other timelines include him being raised by the Waynes and becoming Batman, and being seized by the US government. Didn't exactly end well for "Subject One", and it makes him glad he was raised by farmers instead of the Red Army and thus directly under Stalin. It's given him a little bit of pity for Homelander due to how he was raised in a cold, unfeeling lab, but he reminds himself he's a psychopathic narcissist. It's also given him a lot of sympathy for the Last Man of Alcatraz. He was a Superman Substitute that genuinely wanted to do good, but he was ruthlessly exploited by the US government, and later on the Lunarians, being brainwashed to do evil before eventually snapping for real. The Last Son is now a Tragic Monster beyond reasoning, much as Somishka wants to reach out to him, but he knows he has to be stopped even if he wished there was some other way.
  • His redemption is seen as a massive disappointment by many a tyrant, Zod musing that while he could hardly call him an ally while he was Soviet premier he had his respect for how he led the Soviet Union. Darkseid and YHVH were going to see him as an opponent anyway but they preferred him as a villain because he aligned more with their own ideals and philosophies. The Network thought he could've been a great emissary and promoter. Somishka for what it's worth wants to divorce himself from any tyrant, especially if they had the same kind of beliefs he used to be. Some tyrants weren't disappointed because they knew they were always too evil for him to handle; we're talking your Dr Weils and your IT. Others even more so. Clu was perhaps the most sympathetic yet disappointed of Kal-L, as his desire to seek perfection means he sympathizes with his hardship at making a better world. Somishka coldly responded that he cannot accept his genocide. Nikita Dragovich is perhaps the most upset since he saw him deal vessel of ensuring Soviet and communist domination. In turn, he's called him out for acting like the Red Army's sworn enemies, comparison him Pyotr Roslov and Stalin himself. Dragovich is arguably more envious than frustrated as Superman's time as Soviet Premier was a fulfillment of his wildest dreams; he cannot imagine how one moralizing letter broke his desire to rule. The Aryan Brotherhood weren't so much disappointed as they were disgusted by an alien taking over the USSR, but since they're Boomerang Bigot trash Somishka doesn't give a damn what they think. Somishka has tried not to moralize by saying he was better than Volgin, even though Volgin was definitely worse, but he does see him as another ugly reminder of past misdeeds and misdeeds of the Soviet Union.
  • If there's a figure of the Soviet Union who the Red Son Superman looks up to, and fanboys over for that matter, it's General Zhukov, perhaps the greatest general of the Red Army during WWII, who helped saved Russia from the Nazis back when he was a kid. Georgy Zhukov is flattered, though cautious; he's quite familiar with the Decadent Court of Stalin and his inner circle, which Somishka used to be part of. He's not interested in comic books, but Superman: Red Son was a noteworthy read. Ascended soldiers of the Red Army were initially wary of Kal-L due to the time he was a dictator. The Superman of Earth-30 helped break tension by making a Rousing Speech that it is men like Vasily Zaytsev, Private Koslov, Seargent Reznov and Private Petrenkov who are The Real Heroes, heroes he can't help but admire. His sincere desire to do good and make up for his past actions helped win him over, and they were proud to have a Superman of their own. He'll admit Reznov is a bit hardcore, but he still counts him as a righteous comrade. One of this Superman's heroic deeds involved saving lives in the Metro by stopping collapsing infrastructure. Artyom was thrilled by this as he really needs some guardians for the Metro System, and Red Son Superman is definitely be the type of aid he needs.
  • The Emperor of Mankind wasn't fond of Somishka's past, being that he is one way or another an alien who almost ruled the world, though as a ruthless dictator himself a lot of his critiques could be pointed at him. The Emperor defends this by saying while his own means are similar, he has far worse threats to deal with that need his extremist actions. Billy Butcher also isn't convinced that his redemption is genuine and his past deeds help fuel his hatred of supes, not helped by his comic self coming to the conclusion all supes, himself and the other Boys included, need to die. The other Boys only tolerate him begrudgingly, as while they accept he wants to try and live a normal human life and make up for his past deeds they aren't ready to trust him yet. On that path to redemption, Somishka tends to work with those who hold their own regrets about past extremism, who he counts as more full-fledged allies. Merlina tried to keep her world alive at any cost, however after being defeated by Sonic he was able to inspire her to accept its mortality and adopt The Anti-Nihilist philosophy.

[up][up] Well, he is a demon, so he's going to have some thoughts about the Divine Comedy's version of Hell. Speaking of which, Malebolgia and Violator would also have some choice words with Dormammu given they're demons with high authority in Hell and two of Spawn's biggest foes. He'd also be enemies with Dante given the latter's occupation as a demon hunter whilst also having some relationship with Trigon (and by extension, an enmity towards Raven).

Reposting Hanna and Sentinel Prime. I'm honestly just done with them and I'll be honest, I've been mentally exhausted, frustrated, and despondent over the past couple of months due to some major events in my life, hence my lessened activity here (my cousin died of cancer back in January, my dad got diagnosed with stage one cancer weeks ago as of writing this, I'm going through a strange feeling of early exhaustion since April, just to name the major ones).

That aside, I'm just going to ask for approvals. Finally, given that there was a proposal about Sentinel's trope being changed to Hero's Evil Predecessor and changing Sinestro's trope to Fallen Hero, I honestly don't mind so long as Sinestro replaces Mr. Freeze as a Guardian Rep in Ambiguity. Anyway, let's get this out of the way...

Also, just in case you approve, please do specify whether I should keep Sentinel's trope the way it is, or if I should go ahead with the trope switch. I prefer to have a sense of finality in my suggestions and works after all.

  • UTRAX was a special project conducted by the CIA to create more effective and deadlier soldiers in their services. To ensure this, they would strike a deal with pregnant women, ideally those expecting a baby girl, to allow their offspring to have their bodily systems infused with wolf DNA, with the CIA believing that with the biological data of an adept and powerful apex predator, they would be able to produce nigh-unstoppable assassins. A sector of the operation fell into scrutiny when one of the pregnant women, Johanna, fell in love with operative Erik Heller and opted to leave the operation, which resulted in the two being hounded by UTRAX's then-overseer, Marissa Wiegler. Johanna gives birth shortly before being shot and killed, with Erik promising to take care of her daughter as a surrogate father. The girl was named Hanna, a name that Johanna wanted to bestow upon her and Erik decided that trying to raise her in the civilized world would compromise their identities, instead going on to live in the Siberian wilderness for more than a decade.
    • Growing up in the wilderness, Hanna grew up to be a skilled and capable markswoman and hunter under the tutelage of her adopted father, though she does yearn to learn more about the civilized world and wonders if she has the chance of being integrated into such. Her idyllic and isolated lifestyle comes crashing down, however, as her growing curiosity leads to her going out of her bounds to interact with civilization, which blows her and Erik's cover and for Wiegler and the CIA to quickly gain notice and home in on the duo, fully intent on capturing Hanna to make up for UTRAX's big bust years ago. Relentlessly hunted, Hanna travels around the glove trying to secure her identity as well as seeking to save her father whilst fending off CIA agents and Wiegler, but things would be further complicated as Hanna would be captured (and escaping) several times, forced to protect and look after a troubled family caught in the crossfire of her journey, and discovery the dark secrets and archives of UTRAX and the immorality of their operations. After going through several perils and suffering through several losses, especially the death of Erik, Hanna would eventually find a measure of solace and independence, finally able to live in the civilized world in peace without being hounded by the CIA.
  • With her newfound freedom, Hanna decided to relocate to Boston, Massachusetts to start her new life free from government conspiracies and having to be hounded because of her status as a scientific point of curiosity. To her bewilderment, she was in for an unexpected surprise when she was delivered a message by an anonymous source that said something about a “Pantheon”. Thankfully, this investigation wasn't either life-threatening or compromising in any way, allowing Hanna to quickly and comfortably find clues and hints to decipher the fact that she was now a representative of a divine realm, with her being ascended as a “goddess” of sorts. Hanna was a little befuddled by the whole thing, especially the godhood part and was worried that this might give her unwanted attention, especially after spending so long trying to earn her freedom, but eventually decided to accept that maybe this could be a way for Hanna to have a decent if memorable life. That said, she's made it clear that she has no interest in conflict or investigative operations and wants to establish a quiet life in the divine realms, despite her impressive combat capabilities.
  • Thanks to her DNA being spliced with a wolf's during her mother’s pregnancy, Hanna possesses abnormal reflexes and intuition, able to quickly memorize and adapt to her surroundings and situations very quickly. Adding to her upbringing in the cold mountains of northern Europe, Hanna is also a skilled hunter and combatant, capable of taking on multiple armed figures on her own as well as quickly getting used to guns and being adept in infiltration and espionage after her brief and forced induction in a UTRAX facility disguised as an orphanage. With all those in mind, she is a deadly fighter and infiltrator, very capable of accomplishing whatever tasks and objectives she's sent out to do, though her isolation from civilized society has left her socially stunted and quite curious about the wider world. Despite her faults, Hanna is capable of empathy and emotional attachment, helped by the fact that her adopted father, Erik, did his best to teach her moral values and information about modern civilization in addition to survival skills, and she will be determined to protect whoever she's befriended.
  • As a proposed child soldier, Hanna doesn't like the idea of being used as an assassin after seeing how troubling her life was purely due to the circumstances of her conception. She is at least content that most in the Pantheon share similar sentiments though not many are aware of Hanna’s past. Among the few who happen to know about her in full context is Batman, who did his research on UTRAX and decided to keep a close eye on Hanna to ensure her safety. That said, it was Cassandra Cain who took it up to confront and talk to her, knowing how it feels to have been trained to fight and defend as well as having harsh pasta. While Hanna is quite suspicious of the Caped Crusader due to his reclusiveness on secrets, she gets along with Cass pretty well and decides on the latter's judgment to give Batman a chance as a protector and mentor figure. On that note, Hanna also became quick friends with Killua Zoldyck as the two easily related to their upbringing as potential assassins and not being happy with it, despite their natural aptitude for killing. Hanna personally found Cass’s awkward attempts in communication and Killua’s excitable nature quite endearing and makes it clear she likes those qualities, affirming her newfound friendship with them.
  • With her upbringing, Hanna is understandably apprehensive about the Hall of Genetic Engineering and she felt vindicated as many of the deities there were either barbaric in nature due to their mishandled conception or mad scientists who boasted about their creations. In general, she's glad Erik because she worries that she might have turned out as a cold, robotic hitman taking orders from a corrupt conspiracy, though with genetically enhanced and engineered beings like Cell and Doomsday, she expresses gratitude that she at least wasn't born to destroy, even if she feels a bit rattled by the farmer's decision to be evil. That's not to say everyone there was not friendly or hostile towards her; she could see a little bit of herself in the Tenno, given their circumstances of being engineered to be made into soldiers to combat a defective mechanical force that threatened their existence, but Hanna does wonder if they had much choice in the matter regarding their lives. To her surprise, her background as a genetically engineered being is something she shares with Mewtwo and the Genetic Pokémon saw that Hanna went through a troubled past and took to feeling sympathetic for her. While the two don't meet often, Mewtwo admits to liking Hanna for her resilience and capability to be a person despite her past, likening to how he struggled to come to grips with his thoughts on humanity at first, while Hanna can be at ease knowing that the Genetic Pokémon doesn't pose her any harm, regardless of his reputation.
  • She is a very deadly and ruthless assassin and can easily and quickly kill her targets without much issue as well as hold her own against multiple brutes. Regardless, she doesn't like the occupation and is more comfortable with a normal life. Still, it didn't stop her from befriending Damian Wayne thanks to Cassandra's influence and Damian himself was surprised to see how well Hanna could keep up in a sparring match against him. While the two have issues regarding the assassin life, Hanna dreads the idea of encountering the League of Assassins, which is where Damian's mother and maternal grandfather come from and given Ra’s and Talia’s criminal reputation, Hanna would try to put as much distance as possible. Her background as an engineered killer makes her quite similar to Agent 47. Still, where Hanna would try to find normalcy and leave her old days behind, the latter is too head-deep into the assassin's way of life. While he acknowledges his commonalities with Hanna, he doesn’t trust anyone due to the nature of his occupation. Finally, there was Gunvolt, who respected Hanna’s wishes and would visit her on occasion as a friend instead of a combat ally, a gesture that the girl enjoyed as that meant she could talk a lot about her subjects and share Snickers bars with Gunvolt.
  • Assassins aside, Hanna also shows wariness for governments and Conspiracies, given UTRAX’s nature as a biological weapons project under the CIA and this is a reason why she prefers to have a life of normalcy in the Pantheon as Government-Based and political events and occasions make things complicated for her as well as dredge up some bad memories that she would rather move on from. Naturally, she hates HYDRA and the Red Skull for their efforts to create enhanced soldiers to accentuate their Nazi ideology as well as attempting to bleed their influences into other governments, but given how there are already so many who opposed them, Hanna is content to leave things be unless HYDRA disturbs her directly. She's also gained awareness of a few other conspiracies and hidden organizations, such as the SIBYL System which places extreme surveillance over Japan via determining their Crime Coefficient to highlight an individual’s chance for criminality and the Lycoris agents employed by DA: Direct Attack. Naturally, Hanna keeps her distance and while aware of the darker depths of the SIBYL System’s readings being borderline-sociopathic, she's not sure whether to befriend many of the inspectors and enforcers who do want to keep Japan safe, though with Lycoris, Hanna is admittedly fond of Chisato for her energetic nature and could also relate to Takina for their shared trait of being supposedly stoic markswoman, though Hanna would rather just enjoy being in LycoReco and have a cup of tea as well as play some games with the staff there, Chisato and Takina included.
  • Despite living in the cold wilderness for more than a decade, Hanna is ‘’not’’ a wild child, for Erik did give her books to read as well as make sure to teach her conversational speech in addition to English and a couple of languages, which contributed to the girl’s interest towards the developed world. It didn't stop her from being overwhelmed and skittish at being in a city or a government facility for the first time, given that being in isolation for so long meant that she had trouble communicating with others at first. That aside, Hanna was interested in learning about a couple of deities like Tarzan and Mowgli as their upbringing was a little similar to hers, though regarding those two, animals raised them while she had to hunt critters to survive. Though given Hanna’s wolf genetics, she was able to understand their primal nature quickly and appreciate their attempts to reconnect with their human aspects as well as befriend the two. It helped that Tarzan and Mowgli were sympathetic to Hanna’s plights as they all could relate to losing parental figures and simply desiring a life of peace after everything they’ve been through. Aside from that, Hanna does like the House of Nature and would admit that she intends to travel there for the multiple scenic views it provides.
  • Hanna is interested in parenthood, if mainly because it is a topic she doesn't have much experience in, despite her relationship with Erik as well as her surrogate parent-child dynamic with Marissa in their efforts to combat UTRAX together. With that in mind, Hanna has a great deal of respect for parental figures who were willing to take in lonely children under their care regardless of circumstance. This resulted in the girl visiting the House of Family and Relatives on occasion where she finds the overall environment there quite pleasing and welcoming. Helping matters is how Hanna is reminded of her boyfriend Abbas and his daughter Nadiya, whom she grew close with and protected from UTRAX agents who tried to kill them for simply knowing too much about their operations. As for the parental figures there, Hanna is said to give someone like Bryan Mills a run for his money in a fight, but otherwise, the two of them just respect each other for their dedication to their loved ones and respecting each other’s decision to be in a life of peace. Hanna also likes Jonathan and Martha Kent for being among the nicest people she’s met and a chance encounter with their adopted son Clark helped Hanna to appreciate the simpler aspects of life a lot more. Still, Hanna would like to remind herself that her real mother loved her, even if they’ve never met for obvious reasons.
  • Given her background and her interest towards cities and the wider world thanks to whatever education Erk could give her, Hanna is free to enjoy her time in those places, especially the Pantheon. She is quite wary of expressing her thoughts and experiences, mainly because that means revealing too much about her life as a test subject and fugitive. She once went to the House of Locations and Settings to take a look at how establishments like cities and towns are established in the divine realms, though having to learn about stuff like dimensional locations and space travel left the girl a bit confused and rattled given the sheer advancement of tools and traversals those would take. For obvious reasons, Hanna finds sharing her experiences difficult, even with the aforementioned Clark as she isn't sure whether to trust journalists, even if she knows Clark is a good man to hang out with. Strangely enough, she made friends with Hilda for that very reason and even when forced to reveal such, Hilda was more disappointed that Hanna didn't tell it sooner, asserting that she would have withheld it and respected Hanna’s privacy and autonomy and that she would never consider Hanna a dangerous person simply because she was raised to be an assassin, sentiments that surprised Hanna, but left her glad that there was someone who would unconditionally consider her a friend. She also met and got along with the Sullivan Family through Hilda’s recommendation as a mutual friend and in this case, Hanna was more open about herself, which helped in Johnny and Sarah sympathising with her as well as Christy and Ariel who generally didn't mind her past and simply accepted her as a normal girl. It helped that once one gets past her past and her intended role to be an assassin, Hanna is simply a normal girl, albeit with some issues communicating with others, though she intends to improve on those.
I just missed your heart.

  • Sentinel Prime was once a famed Transformer from Planet Cybertron, a great military commander, warrior, and leader who served as a mentor to Optimus Prime and served as a leader to the Autobots when the great war occurred. Sometimes during or before the aftermath of the conflict, Sentinel was lost and was presumed dead until several millennia later when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from a United States-led expedition to the moon uncovered a Cybertronian ship called the Ark, in which Sentinel was encased within. Salvaged and taken to Earth for research and preservation, Sentinel would reunite with the Autobots decades and work together to ensure protection and peace for their newfound home planet… or so it seemed; Sentinel had actually made a deal with Megatron and the Deceptions before his disappearance to work on restoring Cybertron to its former glory and would shamelessly betray Optimus and the Autobots to instead bring back his former home planet, regardless of Earth had to die and humans become slaves to the Transformers. Eventually, Sentinel also betrays and mistreats Megatron as well, fully intent on claiming Cybertron and the Deceptions entirely to himself as a god, and despite coming close to fulfilling his ambitions, he was defeated and killed by Optimus, though not before having done enough damage for humanity to near-universally consider Transformers as a global threat.
  • When Sentinel found himself in the Pantheon for the first time, his initial thoughts were to ponder on the circumstances of the new realms he suddenly became a part of and decided to travel the cosmos as well as what looked to be Earth in search of answers. He wasn't too surprised when he discovered that both Autobots and Decepticons were in the Pantheon, but felt a mix of emotions when learning about Optimus and Megatron's place there too. He was furious, especially at his apprentice for killing him and at the Decepticon leader for "betraying" him whilst also expressing twisted hope in being granted a second chance at fighting and proving his superiority towards them, but what intrigued him was that he was one of several Sentinel Primes in the multiverse, for there was another who succeeded where he failed at; becoming a leader of a still-existing Cybertron and one more who defended Cybertron against Megatron despite his own brutality. Sentinel felt that he could probably try to learn from his other variations to some degree and apply them to his next warpath against those against him, and while "Sentinel Zeta Prime" was noteworthy to the point of him planning to create a spear like his, the "Cybertron Leader" proved disappointing as this particular Sentinel couldn't match up to Optimus nor did he prove competent in leadership nor combat. Perhaps there was a little bit of himself that Sentinel saw in his "leader self", but what matters is finding Cybertron in the Pantheon and, if necessary, creating a new one regardless of the casualties he would carve in his dark ambitions.
  • Befitting of his title as a Prime, Sentinel is one of the most powerful Transformers, a warrior capable of being Optimus and Megatron's equal in regards to combat and leadership, especially given his position as a mentor to the former. Sentinel possesses great physical power and is quite agile and reflexive for a robot his size, preferring to use a Rust Cannon capable of rusting away a robot's physical structure, effectively killing them painfully and a Primal Blade, a two-sided sword capable of trading blows against the strongest Transformers and further made deadly by Sentinel's combat experience. Despite his leadership and power, Sentinel was a backstabbing madman, fully convinced that he was not just a Transformer, but a god among the Cybertronians, a result of his pride twisting him into becoming no better than the worst of the Decepticons and yet despite all this, he's not above pleading for mercy if overwhelmed, a fact that he didn't like to admit in the Pantheon, instead expressing rage at Optimus for killing him during that time. While Sentinel is all too eager to continue with his ambitions in the Pantheon, he's not above learning from his other multiversal selves out of convenience, though he's now saddled with the necessity to make alliances outside of any Transformers like him if he needs any luck in fulfilling his goals, much to his chagrin.
  • If it weren't for Megatron, then Sentinel would be Optimus’s most personal nemesis and if the Decepticon leader is one based on ideology and moral principles, then the Autobot betrayer is a familial one, and this is an enmity that Optimus couldn't shake off as Sentinel had once been a friend and mentor to him. This broken relationship persisted in the Pantheon, but where Optimus simply conceded that he has no other option but to fight his former mentor again and would rather not kill him unless necessary, Sentinel only wants to slaughter his former friend and prove himself a better leader than both him and Megatron. He’s also not forgotten the Decepticon leader as an enemy and has no interest in an alliance with Megatron despite their mutual enmity towards Optimus. If he has to fight both of them, so be it, because Optimus and Megatron are not worthy of Cybertron’s glorious resurfacing in the divine realms should it ever occur and Sentinel. As for Megatron, he initially expressed disappointment in Sentinel disregarding an alliance, but upon learning that he has been swaying a couple of Deceptions into his service, the Decepticon leader, feeling incensed, has no issues killing Sentinel should they ever meet.
    • Once a great hero in the eyes of the Autobots, Sentinel nowadays is seen as an incompetent joke at best, or a murderous, delusional disgrace at worst and they deem the betrayer to be a grave threat to their efforts to ensure peace and stability towards Transformers and other kinds. In Sentinel’s eyes, the Autobots are misguided, for they are not doing enough to assert themselves as warriors of respect and command rather than protectors of “lesser beings'', something he considers repulsive and underwhelming. As for the Decepticons, Sentinel believes that they are more convincing (or convenient in the eyes of some) in being adamant for their races’ glory and Cybertron’s prosperity, while the group themselves are decidedly mixed about him, with some feeling that he's a more appropriate leader than Megatron due to him simply being more mellow in comparison while others are more hesitant and feel that Megatron, for all his faults, is an effective motivator and knows leading his forces better than Sentinel does. The only thing all three sides could agree on is seeing Unicron as a threat to their existence, but even then, Sentinel has somehow convinced himself that he is the only one capable of stopping the Chaos Bringer, which Optimus and Megatron vehemently disagree on and feel that Sentinel only wants validation in Cybertron's eyes for defeating Unicron rather than preserving the fate of his kind like he claims to do so.
  • While Sentinel was intrigued by the House of Machinery and Technology, he expressed a measure of displeasure at Optimus being a Guardian representative as most of the mechanical lifeforms there were not up to Sentinel’s standards regarding power and supremacy. Naturally, he would default to visiting the Hall of Robots and Automata in an effort to find and forge alliances with whoever was eager to at least tolerate his command and ambitions. He quickly expected to see most robots voice their opposition towards him, such as Jenny Wakeman, Mega Man (and his X Counterpart), WALL-E, Robotboy, and Astro Boy because of his goals bordering on genocide despite Sentinel's insistency in said goals being for the sake of his kind. Even Metal Sonic disapproved, as his priorities were primarily around defeating his genetic template and Sentinel's goals were not what Metal Sonic would have much interest in. Doctor Nefarious was the only robot who was open to supporting Sentinel’s goals, though this came with the caveat of Sentinel agreeing to also eliminate Ratchet and Clank and addressing him about their feats and accomplishments, which were enough for Sentinel to accept the mad doctor’s settlement deal. Ultron was another robot who settled for an alliance with the Autobot betrayer, though he makes it clear that robot supremacy is only truly possible if all organics in the cosmos are destroyed. Despite Sentinel being aware of Ultron’s treacherous nature, he agreed to a collaboration with the omnicidal AI and knowing too well about treachery, he does anticipate Ultron attempting such in the future but doesn't mind so long as they keep their main goals prioritized for now.
    • Sentinel would express interest in the concept of cyborgs and androids but makes it clear that unless they really subscribe to or at least tolerate his goals, they’re just as worthless as the organic lives he considers inferior. As such, he’s repulsed by the YoRHa units, 2B, 9S, and A2, for their designated purpose to fight for mankind whilst finding humour in how they were serving a pointless cause as Humanity was extinct long before YoRHa was even formed. Among other androids were the creations of Dr. Gero; Sentinel gives credit to the effectiveness of their models enough to see 16, 17, and 18 as credible threats, though with Cell, Sentinel is confused about his desire for battle and destruction, to which the omnicidal bio-android muses that he just his hobbies his “perfect” thrill and honestly finds Sentinel's desires too dull, with their enmity coming from the fact that Cell has no problems destroying Cybertron if he felt like it, which Sentinel obviously couldn't allow for his own self-centred reasons. Brainiac was one such being Sentinel found a convenient alliance with as the Coluan was open to accepting a deal and Sentinel pledged that he could offer him any rogue Transformers for him to research. Brainiac also saw a strong ally in the Autobot betrayer and decided that with Sentinel's alliance, he could potentially further his own schemes and keeps in contact with the treacherous Transformer regarding any reports for conquest and subjugation.
  • Learning about the many allegiances and conflicts in the divine realms, Sentinel expressed interest in the Grand United Alliance of Evil as he correctly predicted the forces of good would never respect his actions, let alone support them, but where Megatron is favoured by Melkor, Sentinel felt that a universal destroyer like Melkor wasn't worth his patronage, which led him to instead seek out Darkseid as both were conquerors hellbent on asserting control and domination. To Sentinel’s annoyance, he was forced to accept the Lord of Tyranny as a superior and decided that if he's going to need further firepower, he might require Darkseid’s assistance, a fact that the God of Apokolips will sometimes rub him on. Despite this, Darkseid does see Sentinel as a useful being to keep tabs towards, and his personal sleeper cell regarding Transformers. On Sentinel’s end, the Anti-Life Equation seems like a reasonable tool to acquire and learn for his own ends and he's decided to work under Darkseid to discover the equation at some point, hoping to use it to instil every Transformer into his servitude and act as their undisputed god. The Lord of Tyranny is aware of Sentinel’s agenda, but decides to let him act on it, though he is open to eliminating the traitorous robot should he show signs of actively rebelling against him.
    • Aside from the GUAE, Sentinel also found intrigue and curiosity for the Machine Uprising, especially towards the Rex Machina subsidiary as they were composed of mechanical beings who were like-minded with Sentinel's beliefs and it helped that some of his Pantheonic allies were a part of said uprising. While this gave the traitorous Transformer the unique distinction of being a member of both a Grand United Alliance and a Uprising, both sides are aware of this and let Sentinel play with his desires, seeing him as a useful asset to them in their own agendas. While their goals are different, Sentinel is willing to work alongside members of The Assimilation section of the Machine Uprising as they do agree with him that organics are better off either wiped from existence or subjugated to their service. On that note, he and SKYNET found each other to be quite similar; treacherous beings who betrayed those whom they were supposed to help and guide as well as ordering a campaign of destruction and slavery whilst delusionally thinking of themselves as doing the right thing, but it's because of these commonalities that they found difficulty in working with each other, for both are aware one will betray the other and they're too blinded by their respective god-complexes to decide who should take charge.
  • Perhaps the most deplorable of Sentinel's acts is the shameless betrayal of his allegiance and/or sacrificing their ideals for a more selfish cause. Coupled with his immediate actions of killing Ironhide as painfully as possible, Sentinel is not so far off from the worst of what the House of Betrayal and Treachery had to offer. He was amused by Starscream's position there as a guardian, not forgetting about his many blunders and incompetence, though when it came to an alliance, there was confliction as Starscream feels that while Sentinel is an effective leader, he can't really distance himself from Megatron despite his many occasions to backstab him. Even so, Sentinel and Starscream are willing to work together in opposing the Autobots, much to Megatron’s annoyance. Surprisingly, his shared contempt for humanity was one he shared with Ragyo Kiryuin; Ragyo was smug in telling the traitorous Transformer about being quite similar to her, given their decision to betray their kind and fashion themselves as a deity above others. In a strange turn of events, Sentinel agreed to an alliance with Ragyo; while he's aware of her nature as a former human and admittedly doesn't seem fond of her, he will need allies, robots or not, as much as he hates to admit such. He's open to giving rogue and defeated Transformers as guinea pigs for Ragyo to experiment for her Life Fibers, plus Sentinel realized an alliance with her is more practical than being rivals due to their commonalities. The alliance was more a win for Ragyo as she sees this as being more truthful while Sentinel doesn't care much and would rather see his ambitions fulfilled.
    • A disgraced hero, mentor, and warrior, Sentinel is sometimes compared to figures like Arthas Menethil, Darth Vader, and Malekith, but the Transformer finds it to be annoying and personally sees himself as better than them as, in addition to his own racial supremacist beliefs, Sentinel feels that him having a clear choice and direction made him a better warrior and leader than Arthas, and Vader, whilst also retorting that for all of Malekith's reputation and accomplishments, he's still a victim to his mother's temptation. As for what those three think, while Sentinel is indeed a capable warrior, his hidden nature as a coward eschews whatever martial respect they may have for the Autobot betrayer, and Vader and Malekith have made it clear that they have enough power, personally and through military might, to decimate Sentinel if they wanted to. Surprisingly, General Zod was the being with the strongest commonalities with Sentinel as well as the one the Transformer would acknowledge to respect as both were esteemed leaders, powerful fighters, and heroes of their kind who betrayed their allegiance for what they believed was right, plus both yearned for a bygone time where their kind conquered in a more aggressive belief and view of life. Still, Zod refused to align himself with Sentinel as he wasn't taking chances working with a traitor and felt that Sentinel was too slippery to be trusted while Sentinel finds the Kryptonian warlord to be a hypocrite for not trusting him despite Zod himself turning his back on Krypton's government, though Zod would retort that he had no choice since said government was corrupt and withheld their kind from saving themselves from Krypton's destruction while Sentinel's actions would have resulted in a Cybertron no better than what Krypton's former government was.
  • As an Evil Mentor who once started as a force of good, Sentinel isn't respected by similar figures either, feeling that he is a disgrace as a mentor and master and felt that Optimus was fairly justified in killing him as Sentinel wasn't willing to show mercy to anyone for his mad delusions for godhood. If there was someone very similar to him in that regard, that would be Thaal Sinestro and the two were quick to point out their similarities on their first encounter. But while Sentinel would make for an effective Yellow Lantern, Sinestro determined that Sentinel is far too sucked up in his supposed godhood that he would be a loose cannon. The fact that Sentinel has developed an interest in the Lantern Rings as tools of power to accelerate his desires only seemed to justify Sinestro’s caution for him and he makes it clear that their commonalities aren't going to win him over while Sentinel is adamant about claiming a Yellow Lantern ring someday. Master Asia is another mentor figure who fell from his heroic days, but even he found Sentinel despicable; for all his faults, Asia sincerely wanted to preserve nature, something that Sentinel would have gladly let be destroyed or perverted for his own ends and he’s made it clear never to let the Transformer tarnish anymore of the Pantheon's fertile lands.
  • The Pantheon being filled with so many humans and organic beings, and many of them being well-respected and adored by most of the divine realm’s denizens annoys and baffles Sentinel to no end. It's the one thing he could agree with Megatron on, but they’re not on friendly terms and the Decepticon leader would rather blow his head off than work on an alliance anyway. If Optimus being compassionate towards humans didn’t irritate Sentinel enough, then hearing figures like Superman, Goku, Yomi, The Iron Giant, and The Vision only invalidated his contempt, especially when they’re all powerful figures who could conquer Earth and subjugate humanity several times over Of course, the fact that his usage of the Space Bridge, in addition to restoring Cybertron, was to subject humanity into slave labour for Transformers furthered Sentinel’s unabashed contempt for organics. The Iron Giant and Vision especially frustrated the Autobot traitor as they’re mechanical beings like him and he fails to see why they're so protective of humans, even though they have proven that they could be just as hostile to machines. The two merely scoff at Sentinel as a delusional madman while Superman, Goku, and Yomi are quick to point out the sheer hypocrisy of Sentinel’s words and beliefs, something that he weakly justifies as being for the betterment of his kind and that the Autobots were hindrances from that point. Needless to say, everyone on this perspective sees Sentinel as a delusional bigot while he simply sees them as wasting their potential at best or “succumbing to human intrigue” at worst, resulting in them having vicious fights anytime Sentinel encounters them.
    • While the House of Military and Warfare does intrigue him if mainly for the many weapons and militarized arms he could collect and research, Sentinel is openly and viciously contemptuous of the many military personnel that are stationed there and this also extends to government subsidiaries like HECU and the Silencerz who have had to deal with extraterrestrial and mechanical beings, in which Sentinel certainly counted. As far as Sentinel was concerned, most of the House's representatives were US Soldiers, all of whom would oppose him for his attempted genocide and slavery and Sentinel himself wasn't fond of more openly villainous armies either as neither of them had much to offer him. Taking things further, Sentinel was forced to accept that someone like Gordon Freeman could be a potential threat to him given his feat of taking on invading aliens and holding them off to a standstill as well as being just as good as a trained soldier in combat. He does have some qualms of curiosity towards Wallace Breen for selling out his kind and he's quite open to the possibility of accepting a deal with Sentinel if it means he's kept out of his warpath and he, in turn, could help him deal with Freeman and potentially the rest of Sentinel's threats,
  • Outside of his bigoted and treacherous nature, Sentinel is well known for thinking of himself as a superior being even amongst Transformers, a god as he likes to call it. To his credit, he is aware of his proclamation as well as the fact that many of his allies, especially Brainiac and Ultron are godhood seekers themselves, though Sentinel has some choice words about the concept. He intends to defeat Unicron to legitimize his supposed divinity and he intends to make the Pantheon a machine-dominated realm with him as a patron saint who is to be worshipped for his accomplishments. This led to him running into several beings who have similar desires, with Vilgax, Palpatine, Vitiate, and Frieza taking notice and having their own thoughts on the matter. Vilgax sees him as competition given his own treacherous nature, Palpatine and Vitiate admit to finding his combat skill and leadership impressive and muse about having him as an ally or unwitting pawn, and Frieza sees him as another “pampered oversized trash”. Sentinel would normally praise Frieza for killing Megatron, but the fact that he destroyed Cybertron to ensure that victory makes the Autobot betrayer made him quite apprehensive of the galactic warlord and seeks to prove Frieza his superior in combat at some point, and while he and Palpatine have managed to barely be on speaking terms, Sentinel quipped how he knows a traitor based on how Palpatine spoke about his past apprentices while the Sith Master commended the Transformer for pointing that out as well as acknowledging how the two are more similar than they seem. The two are aware of the likeliness of one betraying the other, but Sentinel and Palpatine intend to go ahead with it once they’re rid of their own foes.
  • While the idea of restoring and reconstructing one's home planet is a noble and sympathetic cause, Sentinel’s intentions are a far cry from those and he has no problems sacrificing another planet and its inhabitants to accomplish that. To him, Cybertron must be rebuilt at the expense of others and the planet seemingly being nonexistent in the Pantheon means he will continue with his goal. This, understandably made him not well-liked by the House of Space and Cosmos as many of the deities there aren't going to sit idly by and allow Sentinel to just take up an inhabitant planet and activate a Space Bridge there. On the other hand, the traitorous Autobot found Mogo the Living Planet to be an interesting specimen and wondered how it would be to activate said Space Bridge on a sentient planet, though he wound up underestimating Mogo when the planet detected the Transformer and fought back, with Sentinel fleeing once much of his army fleet was decimated. He would also take steps to avoid contact with Galactus upon learning of his reputation as a planet eater, especially after learning how he bested Unicron once, but though the Devourer of Worlds generally doesn't pay much mind to Sentinel, he has no issues with delivering his own punishment towards the Autobot traitor should he ever dare to invade his personal space or a planet he tries to consume.

@Crimson Shark [tup] for the profiles

@Sailor Venus 372 and correction to what Crimson said on Dormammu. He is not a Demon, but a Pure Magic Being from a different dimension. He is however recognized as a Hell Lord and Satannish was a creation of his. Which reminds me that Mephisto and other Hell Lords are rivals of his. In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, some of his lines involved dissing Mundus as well as dissing Dante, Vergil and Trish. In Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite the Dark Dimension fused with the Makai Kingdom, more rivals. Also enemies with Hulk. Dormammu once froze him, then gave him to Umar to use as her new toy.

@RJ-19-CLOVIS-93, I don't think it's right to place Red Son Superman as a Headbutting Heroes. Because that means that they Hate each other. If Earth 30 Superman eventually recognized that he was wrong, then why would Earth 0 Superman hate him, also doesn't it take a lot for Superman to hate someone? Plus the two even worked together once when the Supermen of the Multiverse were all being kidnaped. Same thing with Wonderwoman and the Green Lanterns, they don't know him. No reason to hate him. And shouldn't he see High Councilor Kal-El as an enemy, because while Red Son eventually saw the error of his ways, Regime Superman refuses to acknowledge that he was in the wrong, and even gets even worse and worse as time goes by.

Also I think it would be good for Artyom if the two met. His profile mentions needing some guardians for the Metro System, and Red Son Superman can definitely be the type of aid he needs.

[down] none that I can think of

  • In Superman's Rogues Gallery, you will never find someone with the phenomenal cosmic powers tied with a sense of whimsy and playfulness as you will with Mister Mxyzptlk. A jester and magical imp from the Fifth Dimension on the planet Zrfff, he's typicall just jester, a comedian and everyman on his home turf.. But due to the 5th dimension's higher nature, he comes off as a god-like Reality Warper in the third dimension. Rather than anything outright evil like most of Superman's villains, he's content with pranking and messing with the Man of Steel. He can make the universe his clay but prefers to match wits with him by causing (relatively) harmless chaos. For a win condition, you have to get him him to say, spell, write, or otherwise communicate his own name backwards. So have him say "Ktlpzyxm" and he'll be gone for 90 days. He does have a sense of honor and respect behind his clownish behavior, making him more of a Friendly Enemy.
  • Mr Mxyzptlk is relatively unique in that he isn't a specific version that ascended to the Trope Pantheon; all versions of the imp, unless specifically stated otherwise, are the same guy. His pestering of the Man of Steel spans the multiverse. Surprisingly, one mortal did the math and found this actually holds up. And because he can break the fourth wall with ease, he knows what the Trope Pantheon is. He came on his own accord to meet up and mess around with others, and there's no way he's gonna let Superman be where without him. Though Superman finds him annoying, they don't have much in the way of hard feelings and Mxy considers him his worthiest adversary. Second worthiest is Supergirl, who was a victim of his pranks during her early career. Some things he did include temporarily amping power levels up and removed her weakness to Kryptonite to humiliate Superman, depowered her, repowered her, lured her into a future century where everyone had been brainwashed into hating her, tried to get married to her (don't ask), banished her and Batgirl to other dimension and pretended to be her enemy Black Flame pretending be Supergirl as a part of a convoluted scheme to prank Superman and Batman (again, don't ask).
    • His relationship with Superman got a little strained when he was tricked by the mysterious Mr. Oz into being captured along with countless other heroes and villains. He figured Superman would rescue him once he stopped his regular visits, but when that didn't happen, he made his own escape and decided to steal Superman's son as his new best friend. To challenge Mxy's attempts, Superman challenged him to a game, where the winner gets to keep John. It was a back and forth contest where Mxy almost won several times, but ultimately the love of the Superfamily managed to merge his 2 halves back together and reclaim John. Mxy, as part of the game, agreed to go "far away" for a while, but he's fairly certain that Batmite and Gsptlsnz can keep him amused for now. And besides, he'd always be game for another game eventually.
  • Where exactly Mr Mxyzptlk stands in the Fifth Dimension is often Depending on the Writer. In his original appearance, he was basically a nobody on Zrfff. Back in the Golden Age of Comics, his name was Mr Mxyztplk. He's got a bombshell of a wife in Ms Gsptlsnz, though as they're both higher dimensional shapeshifters they could just prefer those appearances. On that note, he thinks Roger and Jessica Rabbit are a cute couple. Originally it was suggested the Golden and Silver Age Mxy were counterparts though with the "all Mxys are the same guy" reveal it's possible this could be just "fifth-dimensional weirdness"...or maybe it's as simple as them being Mxy from different points in his timeline. Supes once managed to get to the Fifth Dimension and cause trouble for him on his home turf. He let Luthor use red kryptonite so long as he didn't reveal his involvement. It's also not clear how he would stand compared to the Daedric Princes in a no hold bars fight. The only one Mxy seems to care about is Sheogoroth, due to his precedent for tricking mortals and not even his fellow Daedric Princes were spared from being made a fool of. Oftentimes he can just do nothing, which you can learn about in a book series called the 16 Accords of Madness.
  • Earlier in his timeline he used to be a serious minded researcher, but in order to complete a Stable Time Loop Young Justice they inspired within him a sense of humor via a Three Stooges bit. He was happy to meet them in the Trope Pantheon and thank them for the laughs. He's been experimenting with his look recently by looking like a Supreme Kai. The impish Glossyark attempted to mess with Mxyzptlk's timeline by getting two "temporally distinct" iterations to show up and cause chaos as he was feeling particularly impish. Present Mxyzptlk wasn't factored in and he ended up throwing a pie at Glossyark, before admitting what he was doing was Actually Pretty Funny. He likes to play games with him, with one being a gamble to be able to mess with Superman in his place. Glossyark always loses this because Mxyzptlk cheats by getting his even further future self's advice, but the former isn't away of that. The further future Mxyzptlk mentions he has something big in plan involving making Rick works with other Ricks and the Doctor work with their various incarnations, but he won't spoil what that entails.
  • There are a few Mxys that are clearly not the same guy, but they're the exception rather than the rule and the main Mxyzptlk is well aware of their antics. Chiefly his Antimatter Universe counterpart Mixyezpitellik, a serious-minded and neatly dressed Reality Warper. He hates being compared to Mxyzptlk, calling him a "madcap imp". There's also a Bizarro Mxyzptlk made as a result of a Bizarro duplication ray, who's interested in creating order and usually pretty dour. Mxyzptlk jokes that they're somehow the same guy as only a Bizarro of him could be so humorless. Mr Mxyzptlk claims that Loki, Anansui and the Coyote are in fact just him under an alias but since he's from the DC Universe this is suspect. For what it's worth he gets along with Loki, seeing him as a kindred spirit if significantly more ambitious than him. The god of mischief decided to prank Thor by having Mxy disguise himself as Loki and the real Loki trying to "clear his name", keeping the act up until he gets bored and betrays him by working with his "imposter".
  • Well aware of Marvel Comics, when he showed up Post-Crisis he initially went under the alias "Ben deRoy as a nod to the Beyonder. When the Beyonder ascended the two formally met (or more accurately the Beyonder met Mxy) and became friends since they enjoy playing with their phenomenal cosmic power. And yes, this is reference to the Genie. In the DC Universe, genies are often Fifth Dimensional imps, and his ilk have inspired other whimsical beings like leprechauns. He and the Genie enjoy stand up, however the Genie thinks Mxy can be a real jerk and while Mxyzptlk usually reverses the damage he does, he has killed. Still, he got a good chuckle over Mxyzptlk disguising himself as Iago and messing with Jafar by tempting him with great power only to put him in the Thousand And One Nights book and figure out how to get out. Afterwards he went after Hoopa and tried to test himself by summoning a bunch of legendaries and see if Hoopa Unbound can send them back with his rings. He's come to like the little scamp and decided to make another Pokemon his partner, that being the tricky and goofy Blacephalon.
  • His true form is incomprehensible to third dimensional beings; being an imp is simply his preferred form to interact with them and not expose the Eldritch Abomination he really is. His true, secret imp name is unpronounceable...though the Joker would argue otherwise. Much like Rumpelstiltskin, knowing his true name gives you some power over him. The possible fae tried to get him in a deal spelling out his true name, but Mxy laughed saying "buddy, I like your trick but I don't need your name to make you do what I want. Don't worry though, it's not my style. Your little trick with Shrek, tricking him into It's a Wonderful Plot just by taking a day? Pretty clever trick". Said ogre would rather just ignore the imp, due to bad memories. This unpronounceable status is different to HIM, who's name isn't spoken more out of dread...or to get past the censors. HIM and Mr Mxyzptlk get along surprisingly well considering HIM is blatantly evil, as the demon loves to mess with the Powerpuff Girls in mind games and bending reality while only getting broken teeth at the worst. Unlike some other demons HIM is happy to just Poke the Poodle when he wants to subvert expectations, like pulling a bunch of mind games to make the Professor pay...for his flapjacks. He thinks a lot of what Mxy does to the Man of Steel is pretty funny. The two have made an agreement never to interfere with each other's turf if they're going to get along, something the imp can easily enforce.
  • Said Powerpuff Girls deeply mistrust Mxyzptlk, having pointed out that sometimes he forges the "nuisance" part and becomes more of an outright villain. Their "Exhibit A" was My Adventures with Superman, where he made a new design based off a Supreme Kai, messing with Clark and Lois' relationship and trying to live up to the status of a chaos god. Mxy noted their "looks like a Supreme Kai" comment and decided to use that for some pranks; he pretended to be a Kaioshin there to help Goku with training. He offered "spiritual training", giving him a glowing black rock...akin to Black Kryptonite. The result was Goku undergoing a Literal Split Personality, one half an Unskilled, but Strong Blood Knight called Kakarot and the other a Weak, but Skilled humbler Goku that didn't like each other, being "his Saiyan and Earthling halves". The two ended up fighting until the Goku half tricked the Kakarot into "doing a little dance to show he's not just a brutish jerk"...and he did the same dance, aka a Fusion Dance. This returned him to normal and impressed the imp, saying he'll figure out something smarter. Enraged by this, Beerus confronted Mxy and said that if he tries this stunt again he might destroy him. The imp said "go on, bring it!". Beerus used Hakai...only for the purple energy to do nothing but light his cigar. Learning he got along with and was more powerful than Zen'o shut Beerus right up. The ascended Kaioshins have decided not to mess with him for now.
  • All being said, his alias hardly pronounceable due to its complete lack of vowels, and usage of rare consonants. All his kind have the lack of vowels in their name. How do you even pronounce it varies; "Mix-pih-tulk", "Mix-yez-pitl-ick", "Mix-el-plik", they're all valid. Him having to say his name backwards might be a blessing in disguise. Rumpelstiltskin considered making another trick of getting Mxyzptlk to make him say his own name backwards or else he'll keep interfering with his mischief. Mxy accepted the deal, only to end up getting frustrated waiting for the other guy to say "Nikstlitslepmur" and accidentally saying his own name backwards in an angry rantnote . Ryuk used his Shinigami eyes to figure out his true name only to get "Mxyzptlk" in English instead..."nice try" said the imp. There wasn't any hard feelings as he likes the cut of the Shinigami's jib, being someone who's more proactive and interested in stirring the pot to see what happens. Mxy won't admit that him giving a mortal great power was done smarter than when he did it. Speaking of which...
  • Famously, the Joker once scammed him of the majority of his power by exploiting his true imp name. Mxyzptlk only wanted to give him 1% of the power as he was curious to see what he'd do with that power, but he ended up taking 99.9% instead. Becoming Emperor Joker the universe bent to his insane vision and reality started tearing apart at the seams, requiring Mr Mxyzptlk to work with Superman to find a way to beat the Clown Prince of Crime. It's very much an Old Shame and by his own admission, a bone-headed move. Because of this he's made sure never to let himself be in that position again, staying clear of Dr Doom has he has a...reputation for taking god-like power for himself. He has no interest in giving anyone a drop of his power after that, so he stays clear of Moro and Lord Tirek as they can't be trusted with even a zillionth of his power. Much as it left him with egg on his face, Mxy was still interested in other cases of someone handling god-like power. He thinks Bruce Nolan being God for a Day was amusing, giving him props for yanking too hard on reality.
  • Doom speculated he might actually be the Impossible Man for a bit, but the two ended up meeting and not getting along as the Impossible Man thought his pranks went a bit too far. He was outraged that not only did Mxy not care about innocent lives being endangered, but he lied to him. For context, this was a crossover between the Man of Steel and the Silver Surfer, where they joined powers to both make the crossover and prank the two heroes. The latter wasn't enthused about meeting him again given his more cavalier attitude towards danger. That's why the Collector is mistrustful of him, however the imp still has a soft spot for the kid and they like to compete at planetary billiardsnote . That said, Mxy does have standards and a sense of honor. He's not like Bill Cipher who's idea of a good party is causing mass chaos and devastation, and he's not a Sadist like Yuuki Terumi. That said, he does enjoy playing games with Bill, but it's more about showing that triangle up. They regularly play reality-bending games in the Nightmare Realm, specifically there because Mxyzptlk feels Cipher needs to be on a leash until he learns how to play nicer, often with him making fun of Cipher for using his hedonism in part to cover up the fact he misses the home he burned down. Him wanting to prove he's a better mischief maker is meant to distract the villain.
  • Got a bit bored of playing poker with Bill in the Nightmare Realm and he manifested into somewhere a bit more colorful...Equestia...which history has shown is a bad idea. Discord immediately confronted Mxy given his fight trying to fight off the menace of Bill, who responded with "just ask Ktlpzyxm over there". The imp's response was "that's Ktlpzy-...oh you scummy Dorito chip!" and turned Bill into a Dorito before kicking him out. Mxzyptlk apologized for that, since he's a fan of Discord and enjoys messing around with reality, but not too much. The Mane 6 were curious, if a bit concerned over someone "who's been playing Discord's game before De Lancie was a glimmer in his daddy's eye!...oh yeah, I should probably mention I can see the bronies too." While his specialty is messing with Superman, he's decided to mess with Pinkie Pie by summoning her and Deadpool into a World of Chaos and see if they can figure their way out together. He wanted to be sporting and ran a deli for them when they get hungry, but he got tricked into saying his name backwards when asking to be paid for the chimichanga and ice cream. 90 days later, he wanted a redo and they were happy to do so.
  • The Fifth Dimension is described as being "imagination". It is one ontological layer below the Sixth Dimension, the "multiversal control room" which Perpetua and her relatives come from. The planet he's from, Zrfff, is the home of imps, genies and similar beings, who's magic is advanced 5-D science. Visitors have described Zrfff as being a wacky and chaotic place, something close to a Looney Tunes sketch. To some degree, you could say that Mr Mxyzptlk is like a trickster who uses Toon Physics. Mxy corrected this by saying "my powers aren't toonforce, I simply present it like that!" Judge Doom still despises Mxyzptlk for how close in temperament and to a degree powers he resembles a toon, even if he's a toon underneath that human suit. Emperor Belos holds Mxy in contempt as someone that resembles, seeking his power for himself to purge the world of "sinful" races. Not wanting to take any chances, he turned him into an action figure and played with him as the Collector played with an "action figure" of Zamasu. The mad Kaioshin made the mistake of trying to attack Mxy because he saw him as an irresponsible god at best, god-complexed juiced up mortal at worst. Said action figure doesn't have a voice box because the imp didn't want the "action figure" to say slurs in front of the kid.
  • Mr Mxyzptlk is a big fan of the Looney Tunes. The imp waxed on a (possibly untrue) story that before the Man of Steel he was in a prank war with Bugs Bunny and lost, but liked the moxie and decided to improve his craft. The story may be made up, but the point is that the two got along long enough for Mxy to ask him for a favor and go humiliate the Joker as payback for the time he stole his power. The Joker thought he could get one up on Bugs by making him say " Ynnub Sgub" but as Bugs was using Toon Physics alone, no dice. The whole thing was recorded by Future Zeno who figured out how to use a camera, in order to show off to Present Zeno. Mxyzptlk likes those kids, musing "sentimentality isn't my style but hey, I'm a dad myself". Mxy's fondness for the Zeno duo might be because of sadness over how his son (sort of, it's complicated) Vyndktvx turned out. He tried killing him only to take out the Thing-King (actually a future Mxyzptlk) he systematically destroyed all of the planets inside his pocket dimension to spite his enemy, and inflicting a massive amount of misery towards Superman for burning Vyndktvx's arm during one of his attacks on Earth. He'll entertain him in exchange for getting to mess with Goku. So long as he comes back in one piece and he gets to watch, Zeno will allow it.
  • Mr Mxyzptlk is absurdly powerful by simple virtue of being from a fifth-dimensional Wackyland, but just how absurdly powerful depends. Sometimes the way to banish him is a self-imposed limitation, sometimes it's a hard rule. He's a self-admitted sucker for games, not necessarily that he is bound to their rules as the Celestial Toymaker is that he really likes them. Not coincidentally, the Toymaker happens to be a good friend of his. The two are reality warpers who occupy themselves and their immortality with games. The Toymaker uses more "official" games while Mxyzptlk does mind games and jokes. They each have their personal Worthy Opponent in the Doctor and Superman respectively. They're also significantly more powerful than nearly every other member of said opponent's rogues gallery. The Toymaker's games are considerably more nasty, with the occasional Fate Worse than Death, however like Mr Mxyzptlk he has rules and some sense of fairness he follows. The imp has tried to make it a regular thing every week to meet up with the Toymaker and play games, often requiring the Doctor and Superman to work together in order to mitigate collateral. In Mxy's defense, he'll reverse whatever damage the Toymaker didn't bother to as he's not as bad. Sarda will sometimes be invited for game night.
  • By his own admission there are some beings beyond him, such as Dr Manhattan and, given the aforementioned Sixth Dimension, the Monitor and his relatives in their true form. He doesn't exactly care for Jon Osterman's attitude and has tried to tell him to lighten up, but is otherwise ambivalent towards him. Unfortunately, it also means that as the Darkest Knight, the Batman That Laughs is a threat and one just as comparable to Emperor Joker, if not even worse. He's definitely above Darkseid given he was no match to Emperor Joker, at least regularly as True Form Darkseid is not a form the Lord of Apokolips uses lightly. Beings like Darkseid and YHVH consider him utterly insufferable for not using his powers for anything serious. The Living Tribunal isn't all that impressed by his actions and general irreverence, and Mxyzptlk isn't exactly fond of someone much more powerful than him being, as he sees it, a stick in the mud. Still, he recognizes the Living Tribunal's importance and the two begrudgingly tolerate each other. Also of note; it's ambiguous where SCP-3125, another being from (a different) Fifth Dimension would stand compared to the imp. What is known is that the Escapee finds him obnoxious and insufferable, and Mxy thinks he's no fun.
  • His focus on the DC Universe is usually just Superman and friends. As annoying and chaotic as he is, more than a few times they've had a laugh at what transpired. While he is on speaking terms with Lex Luthor, that's more down to him being ok with helping him once in a blue moon to cause mischief, not because he likes him. Bizarro seems to get along with him a bit more, though that's more down to one incarnation of Bizarro coming to be because of the Joker using the imp's powers and Mxy being nice enough to keep him around when reality went back to normal. Mxy has a Friendly Rivalry with Batman's most powerful fanboy, another 5-D imp called Bat-Mite, who in the (possibly non-canon) "World's Funniest" they ended up rampaging and destroying the multiverse in their little conflict, only to put reality back together good as new like nothing happened. Again, good thing he's only interested in mischief. One of his antics was dunking on the Spectre with planets, something the angel is not impressed by. He's more livid at the time Mxy impersonated him to watch over Regime Superman when he was troubled by Trigon, as no-one messes with his Supes but him! The fact Trigon wasn't squashed like a bug would solidify his Overdeity status in the Trope Pantheon.
  • Once faced an Eldritch Abomination called the Ultimator, who was a 10-dimensional being that almost succeeded at consuming and assimilating the Fifth Dimension into itself. Being completely outclassed, Mxyzptlk had to resort to other comic books to figure out a solution. His solution? Make his own version of Dream of the Endless to bore the Ultimator into a slumber. The actual Dream tolerates this parody, but he didn't think it was all that funny. Since the Fifth Dimension is imagination, one could argue that it falls under the domain of Dream...though there's always the question of "how canon is Vertigo to DC anyway?" He does respect Dream, though he gets along a lot better with Delirium due to sharing that spirit of chaotic whimsy, though even Mxy is cautious not to truly upset her. As the Fifth Dimension is imagination, that puts Mxy in opposition to the Nothing. On a related note, the Auditors despise Mxyzptlk for his boundless whimsy and imagination coupled with the power to make his chaotic whims a reality.
  • As much as he's seen as a Laughably Evil or even Harmless Villain, it's very important to remember the only reason Mr Mxyzptlk is not one of the most dangerous villains in all of DC is because he chooses not to. At heart he's Above Good and Evil and acts out of boredom; he spent the first 2000 years of his life in stasis, the next 2000 doing good deeds and now being a prankster. In one scenario he decided to try being a villain for 2000 years, and afterwards maybe he'll feel guilty about it. It did not end well, with many innocent people and much of Superman's supporting and rogues gallery dying. Xenophanes wants to goad Mr Mxyzptlk into doing that again, but he's given a firm "no" since that ended with Superman killing him, and he's not that bored yet...or maybe that's something that happens at the end of his personal timeline. He finds Lord X to be droll and unimaginative, but this doesn't change the fact that he and Bill Cipher are well aware he absolutely has the potential to be more dangerous than them.

There's a broken link on the Rick flavor text. Here's a revised version (in which I also fixed the ones with missing words.

  • The current Mxyzptlk showed up next to Rick, having "gone on sabbatical" for 90 days before throwing the aforementioned pie at Glossyark. In actuality, Bugs did a routine of going "Ktlpzyxm! Mxyzptlk!" until the imp slipped up and said his name backwards. Since Rick just got back from dealing with future Mxy he did something similar to Earth-12 Supes by exploiting Cunningham's Law and Reverse Psychology, except way smugger about it. 90 days later, Mxy showed up only for Rick to show a gadget with letters on the screen showing the backwards letters of Mxy's name, and Mxy accidently read it. After like the third time Mxy reappeared, Rick bemoaned how Mxy's shtick is getting old and predictable at that point. He outsmarted the devil, he really should bring his A game by now.

Again for Mxy, his My Adventures with Superman incarnation looks like a Supreme Kai so you can use that to give him interactions with other Dragon Ball characters. Add that and the thumb is yours.

Also a fun joke would be trolling Iago the parrot as Mxy had the same VA.

@ RJ: Honestly, when it comes to allpowerful tricksters I'm surprised Sheogorath didn't get a mention. There is a precedent for him tricking mortals and not even his fellow Daedric Princes were spared from being made a fool of, oftentimes by doing nothing, which there is a book series of called the 16 Accords of Madness.

All my fault, you say...? What fault? I daresay it's all thanks to me.

Would Rick really want to taunt Mxy enough that he brings all of his powers against Rick. The few times he does in comics is never a good situation.

[up][up][up] honestly it feels kind of weak to make an interaction based on the appearance of a character from a different continuity. In fact I’m against this interaction.

However @ RJ-19-CLOVIS-93. The Silver Surfer has actually met Mister Mxyzptlk in a Silver Surfer/Superman crossover. Mxyzptlk and The Impossible Man joined powers to both make the crossover and prank the two heroes. Understandably said heroes where not thrilled about this.

So, given Thanos’ death will cause the Rot, who would try, only to find out exactly why it’s a terrible idea?

No-Thumbs Mode

"Fools taking up arms against omnipotence. They rush head-on into Armageddon. So I shall provide them with a most glorious doomsday! The heavens will run red with blood. But in the end, as always, Thanos will stand triumphant."

”I am Thanos of Titan. I have conquered worlds. I have bent reality around my will. Men cower at the mere mention of my name. And now... now you have imprisoned me... mocked me... disrespected me. And here you stand, ready to take advantage to my condition. Ready to finish me. Well, if I am to fall, I will die showing you all that Thanos will not be disrespected. Thanos is still a conqueror. Thanos is still a warrior. Thanos is still a god. And you will either bow or be broken.”

[up] How recent is that info? If it's very recent, I recommend being very careful with it as to not sound like that info in a flavor text was made in a hype-fuelled emotional state, especially if that was in an ongoing story (I don't want it to sound like "OMG he's so powerful guys!!!").
