@Ayumi-chan; mainly I'm thinking of Persona 4, which has a character with the stage name "Risette", but there's also the recent slang term "riz", a shortening of "charisma" because I guess people came be bothered to say two more syllables.

She looks like a school girl version of Sharon with that outfit.

Out of curiosity, is Daybreak also a dating sim like Cold Steel or is there a set love interest again?

Not really as there are only two L Is.

That said, there are Bonding events (named Connect Events) there and they are mostly platonic in nature.

Sweet, I want to hang out with Renne and not romance her. I know she's a party member at some point.

Given Renne's history, it probably would be a good sign for her if she could have a romantic relationship.

That said, I'm glad it isn't with Van because I'm pretty sure he's way too old for her.

Van is 24 and Renne is 17 going on 18, so not overly squick but not a good look ether.

Renne strikes me as someone who would fall for someone like Lloyd tbh. Someone so on the straight and arrow its painful. Van is not that.

Without getting into spoilers, is Van that bad?

At the very least, and only gleaning surface level stuff second-hand, Van strikes me as much closer to an anti-hero.

Yeah, but for this franchise antihero means somebody who only tips 14%.

Van's job is like a darker version of the Bracer's guild called a Spriggan that does jobs that are a little more icky to deal with as a good way to see how he is.

I'd say he's basically a Kevin successor, albeit not as self-loathing. Will do what he has to do, but because it's a Trails game, it's still pretty mild. Nevertheless, they do as good of a job with him, at least in the antihero department.

He makes me think of SC Joshua more than anything.

Seriously, just staring at the player. This twist might have been obvious, but I haven't felt a betrayal like this in a long while.

As in, it came from a character I had no reason to suspect beyond some clues that I dismissed. With Dieter and Mariabell, I liked their characters enough that I was dreading all the clues I noticed, and it legit hurt when the knife struck.

But Weisemann is def a bigger surprise. I thought he was a decently entertaining side character, but...well he was the real Ouroboros agent. Fuck, should have paid less attention to Gilbert, not Dumbledore, Professor Russell, and more on him.

So when you starting SC?

Actually since my plan to get Unicorn Overlord fell through since I had to spend my funds for medical supplies for reasons, I might as well start SC in a day or two.

I'm feeling refreshed and ready to meet Renne, reunite with Oliver, knock some sense into Joshua, and kick Alba's ass.

I also want to play UO but I can't find a copy where I live T-T.

I don't want to play UO because the story doesn't sound great and that's a deal breaker for me.

I only mention it cause I heard that a lot of love was given to the game and the devs are passionate about it.

Back on topic, I can't wait to see Red's decent into theory crafting for SC.

I know you’re messing with me, but Laura’s mom being Ouroboros would NOT surprise me totally. I have this weird feeling ever since Mariabell, Laura is an Ouroboros enforcer.

the biggest twist is that they are both Demiourgos who just lied on what happened to her to hide amongst the humans and then need to make Ouroboros and copy body's to make the best outcome for the world.
