A thread to discuss the Trails Series of video games (known in Japan as the Kiseki series). Adaptations of the games are also on-topic.
As of May 2024, there is no specific spoiler policy for this thread, which means the the default forum spoiler policy applies. In summary:
- Spoilers for non-episodic works should remain tagged for a minimum of one month after the work's release.
- Spoilers for episodic works (including any DLC) should remain tagged for one month or until the next instalment releases, whichever is shorter.
There hasn't been much good news in months for people who want more Legend Of Heroes VI in English. Xseed has apparently been translating the second installment for PSP, but no release date yet, and they apparently have not had much sales success. Meanwhile, there have been no official statements about releasing the Windows versions in English.
But thanks to this Andriasang article, I learned that Aeria Games (best known for MMORPGs) plans to release the Trails in the Sky trilogy internationally on smartphones. Some online and social functions will be added to the basic gameplay. No clear indication of what international smartphone platforms just yet.

Yeah, Estelle even mentions she wanted to try one out ever since she saw Lila.
So uhhh Estelle maid fetish confirmed?
Run Joshua, RUN!
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I think Estelle just likes Cosplay in general, she also really got a kick out of the Knight outfit for the play.
So lore question, what kind of benefits do you get out of joining Ouroboros exactly?
Do they pay well or arrange for you to get political power?
Take for example, Mariabell, what exactly does she get out of joining Ouroboros?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Being an Anguis seems to be more that their goals line up with Ouroboros's and are directly trying to accomplish them. So whatever is going on Vita, Mariabell, Novartis, Arianrhod and Weissmann all agree on that goal... but you can bet that some object to the brutal methods of other Anguis. Also seem to be more under the Grandmaster's leash than Enforcers... at least in later games, Weissmann is really doing his thing.
An Enforcer... umm well, every Enforcer is mentally damaged in some relation to their their Tarot number. Its kinda a recovery program for said damage and they leave once they have recovered... or die.
Of the ones you have met.
- Campanella - 0 - The Fool
- Mc Burn - 1 - The Magician
- Sharon - 9 - The Hermit
- Bleublanc - 10 - The Wheel of Fortune
- Joshua - 13 - Death
- Renne - 15 - The Devil
- Shirley - 17 - The Star
Sky SC has The High Priestess, The Empress, The Lovers, Strength. And one of the later Cold Steel games has The Sun.
No one has ever been replaced.

So Ouroboros is chill with Renne leaving at the end of Zero? They don’t want her back?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Being an Enforcer is an entirely volunteer thing.
Rosenberg and Novartis do have words over the treatment of Renne in Azure though, Novartis seems to want her back at least as a test subject while his comments set Rosenberg off.
Bleublanc seems proud of her with the comments he makes in Cold Steel 2.
New trailer, for the baby Jaeger Feri.
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/AI believe the clinical term is "Jaeger-Tot".
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Wait, when did Instructor Sara say this line?
Either way, she really is my spirit animal. Granted, I was too afraid to do some of her events because I don't want Rean to romance her.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I'm not 100% sure how romantic the events with Sara are in the first two games.
Also, I'm trying to finally finish up Zero and get to Reverie, so I'll stay ahead of Red in this thread. I just got through the interlude, and Cecile somehow believing that Tio was KeA's mom is both funny and uncomfortable. That woman is not bright at all.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Sara's romance event in CS 2 is pretty much amount to 'I am into silver foxes but I might make an exception for you. Even though you are old enough, nothing till after you graduate though'.
You do get that kiss on the cheek she mentioned at the very beginning of Cold Steel 1 tho.
Oh jeez, I'm gonna have to be careful when doing events with the lady students when I get to Cold Steel 3.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Don't worry about it. Bonding doesn't lead to romance in CSIII.
CSIV is another story.
IV at least lets you know when a bonding event will be a "special moment" with a girl.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.I don't really see why you need to be "careful". You can just accept the Values Dissonance and move on. It's only a video game.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Just because it's a videogame doesn't mean it's okay.
Or that people can't be uncomfortable with that sort of thing.
Yeah, like I've babysat stupid kids against my will, and once was a teacher's assistant because I lost a bet.
So that stuff just makes me uncomfortable.
Also I'm staying loyal to Laura, dang it.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. It is pretty clear that Rean's female students have feelings for him. Especially Musse, who tends to hit on him during cutscenes.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Ah, so she's the one I should avoid.
That name is pretty interesting.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. And Juna. And Altina. And Elise. And...
Wait, Elise is a student as well?
Shit.
Rean can't get away from her.
WAIT, ALTINA?
Uhhhhh didn't see that coming.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. No, it means Rean can romance her. So avoid Rean's students and sister at all costs.
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/ATimeline wise Elise and Alfin are still in their final year at Astraia. It’s only a 1 year time skip between cs2 and 3.
Whew, that would have been awful.
Right, stay away from Elise even more now.
One year, and suddenly he’s a teacher now?
Jeez, don’t you need some actual qualifications besides being good at hitting things?

I still like how that bit has both in maid outfits, Joshua's grumpy, but Estelle kinda likes it. Whereas in the play, Joshua's implied to be taking the role seriously.
