If not a literal let's play, it would've just been a walk-through.

Though the timeline is pretty confusing, it may have been the latter.

I had to use a walkthrough too, but it was a text one instead of a video.

So, how's the Sonic Dash game?

The OG version was good until they injected some card system to copy from Sonic Forces Speed Battle. Now it's choppier and grind-y as hell. And the less said about the daily card limit, the better.

Fortunately, Sonic Dash+ and Sonic Prime Dash maintain the original character token system, plus they have no ads, so if you have Apple Arcade or Netflix, those are good alternatives over the OG. (Only downside besides the Arcade and Netflix bits is that only OG Dash has the Movie characters.)

Speaking of Dash, Sonic Stadium has a new article that really gets into the thick of why the OG Dash game is pretty much a no-go.

What is it with mobile games wanting to do microtransactions?

This poor Tails figurine lost a tail and its owner doesn't know what to call him now. XD

And Speed Battle added Bonus Missions back in December when they reran the holiday characters up to that point (Nutcracker Silver, Elf Classic Sonic, Jingle Belle Amy & Santa Big). Watch an ad, unlock the slot for 8 hours (so at least the initial mission and one refresh.) They change out who's available in the Bonus Mission slot (usually it's two Special-tier runners available) with each event.

One year, two mobile games were both big hits. One of them cost money to buy, and the other was free to download but charged money for in-game boosts and stuff. One made wayyyy more money than the other. The rest of the industry took notice, and here we are.

Mobile is also the platform of choice for gacha games. As most of them are Asian and therefore in a market where consoles/PC and the time to play them are increasingly becoming luxuries for adults.

• a central question of what exactly you're doing here

Shadows of the Colossus

• giant roaming landscapes with ominous music and an adventurous progression
• ancient, desolated ruins controlled by hulking bestial creatures

End of chapter 2 of There's Something About X, finally.

Jury's out on how many Mashed is planning to make.

The voice inside Knuckles head was rather literal, and it was a shrunken down Something!Amy. He leaves with her as a maddened, shrunken kaiju.

Man, that last There's Something about Knuckles episode was brutal! I'm curious to see where things are going after this!

Sonic Frontiers sorta works on Steam Deck. The only reason I didn't uninstall and play on something else is because Steam is the only platform I own it on. I considered getting Superstars on sale but every boss being Iblis Phase 2 (the worst boss in the franchise) would make me uninstall the game.

I've not finished Superstars yet, so maybe they get worse, but from what I've played so far I actually like the bosses (which is especially surprising since I'm more of a 3D person). They're ridiculously challenging, but I actually find that enjoyable (even though I'm not the sort of gamer who enjoys an incredible challenge). I get why people dislike them, but just from the several I've fought so far, I like them.

At least from what I've played so far (and I believe I'm a fair chunk in), I am very much enjoying it. I'm not usually a huge fan of 2D titles, but enjoyed the level design and physics of this game. If you like the 2D games, you should probably like this, though might take issues with part of it. If you don't like the 2D games as much, then it's much harder to tell.

I'm on the fence about getting it on sale. Is it worth playing or is the game just bad and I should avoid it.

Superstars is fine. The levels are competently made for the most part with the occasional annoying gimmick, but the bosses are way too obnoxious. It's pretty middle-of-the-road as far as 2D Sonic games go.

And the issue with the bosses isn't that they're hard per se, it's that the later ones take way too long and have you spending 90% of the fight waiting for any opportunity to hit them because they spend most of the time out of range or invulnerable. The final boss for Trip's campaign is by far the worst, it takes like 5 minutes even when doing it perfectly, you have very limited opportunities to do damage, because of that the Emerald powers barely help because they don't last long enough, almost every attack is an insta-kill that will send you back to start (all except for the attack that's the most trivial to dodge), and it's often hard to figure out how you're even supposed to dodge or hit the boss without lots of trial and error.

The bosses should've had health bars and take more hits but have more openings if they wanted to make them harder and longer. Or make the fights the same length but with more phases. Bosses that are just waiting around forever waiting for a hit are my absolute least favorite.

So......seems Mike Pollock has a become a Broken Pedestal for a lot of people now.

Same thing happened with Tara Strong some months ago. I think some Twitter users wanted to cancel her because of the dark tweets she did a decade ago. Those tweets were incest jokes based on Ben 10.

Tara Strong actually got fired from an indie project she was working on. It wasn't being cancelled on Twitter.

This probably won't affect anything if Pollock keeps his dead down, though.

You're telling us that Pollock didn't bring out his dead? The cad.

But seriously, this looks really bad for him. I've already seen guys push to have Brian Drummond, his VA in Sonic Prime take over and it's like, aren't there laws that make that impossible unless he has citizenship in the US or something? (Or am I mistaken?)

For voice acting? No, that's not a requirement. At least not that I've ever heard of.
