Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Oarfish are large, greatly elongated, pelagic lampriform fish belonging to the small family Regalecidae.
They're certainly fun to look at underwater! It'd be kinda nice to have a creature like that near home!

My Milotic is pretty much an oarfish Pokemon. Strange that it evolves from Feebas, a bass fish Pokemon. I mean, bass fish and oarfish don't look similar at all.

Good afternoon. Today, an author friend of mine from Liyue contacted me with ideas for approximately three novels' worth of illustrations. I don't normally do commissioned artwork, but Zhenyu's work is quite fascinating. "Zhenyu" is a pen name, to be clear. He's not working in secret, persay, but I'd rather be courteous and address him by his nom de plume in public. My own alias for this particular endeavour is "Calx".

Imo the works of Tevyat are all somewhat limited in scope. There’s always magic involved, something fantastic, and of course, gods. My favourite work from Mondstadt’s library is probably A Godless World - and yes, it’s poorly written. Despite the main characters’ struggle being supposedly against the harsh environment, there’s a moustache-twirling villain who keeps interrupting them for… reasons we never get to learn? The characters themselves also have just enough depth to keep them interesting.
But what I find interesting about it is the way that the author portrays how a world without divine guidance or god-given rules would look. It’s bleak, and society as a whole doesn’t have any organization - no one seems to even have a concept of organization. As someone from a universe with (as far as I can tell) no gods, where we very much do organize and determine our own fate to some extent, I can’t help but find this perspective deeply fascinating, and it’s kept me going through the whole book.
I gotta write a proper review of it sometime.

It's an interesting one, for sure. The idea of a "godless world" isn't something most have any experience with. That said, a Mondstadter author coming up with the idea that a godless world would be chaos... is interesting to me. Barbatos is hands-off at best. The Knights do most of the organization in Mondstadt. Now, I might understand someone from Liyue or Inazuma having that opinion, but Mondstadt... well, the god of wine and song seems quite keen to leave us with complete freedom.
As for Legend of Sword, it's set in a completely different world to Teyvat. Here, I've got a few pages as a demo.

It seems like the opening to a pretty generic sci-fi novel. It's well-written (if a bit purple), but nothing that would be too groundbreaking in our own world. Some pages have illustrations, in Albedo's style.

I'm an adventurer. I do the things people can't or won't. People pay the Adventurers Guild whatever they're willing, they take a cut, and the rest goes to whoever does the commission. Or well, that's how it's supposed to go. More often, I just get hired off the street directly. I have... something of a reputation. Happens after you save entire nations a few times.
