Detective Comics is a 2016 comic book series published by DC Comics as part of the DC Rebirth branding initiative. The series was launched in 2011 with James Tynion IV as writer, Eddy Barrows as penciller, Eber Ferreira as inker, and Adriano Lucas as Colorist.
Tynion IV's run, known in collected form as The Rise and Fall of the Batmen, span from issue #934 to #981, as well as an epilogue in issue #1000, before the series was handed off to Bryan Hill. Issue #982 is a one-shot issue by Michael Moreci and Sebastián Fiumara.
Bryan Hill's run, collected as On The Outside, spanned from issue #983-987.
James Robinson's run, collected as Deface the Face, spanned from issue #988-993.
Peter J. Tomasi's run started from issue #994 until issue #1033, crossing over with DC Year of the Villain and The Joker War.
Mariko Tamaki and Dan Mora took over Detective Comics as part of the DC Infinite Frontier initiative following along from Future State: Dark Detective from issue #1034 until issue #1046, crossing over into Fear State. Following this, Amancay Nahuelpan joined on as illustrator with the Shadows of the Bat arc, with Matthew Rosenberg writing a back-up titled House of Gotham alongside the arc. Tamaki would be joined on by Nadia Shammas for the final arc of the series, Riddle Me This before the title was handed over to Ram V.
Ram V's run, titled Gotham Nocturne, is described as a "quintessential Batman story with a gothic opera". The run examines Batman's role in Gotham as a whole, exploring similar themes from Batman (Grant Morrison). Gotham Nocturne started on issue #1062 and is still currently publishing.
